  1. Nice. Love those one pitch out. 2 down.
  2. Looks like I got the game. Did you otis89?
  3. I hope I get the game, but I'm not holding my breath. I get WGN, but no Comcast. When the game's on ESPN and WGN, I get it on ESPN. When it's on ESPN and Comcast, I don't get it. Now that just doesn't make any sense at all. If you look to the bottom right, where it says "Next: Pirates vs Cubs LIVE", then you have a good chance of getting the game. Not 100% chance, but a solid one I would have to say. I think they must have moved the game up from 1:20 to 1:30 perhaps. I didn't notice that. Hopefully I'll get it since they won't have another baseball game to run. Yeah. I'm not guarentting that you WILL get the game. I'm just saying that you have a good possibility.

  5. Eh, I'm not so sure... anyone who goes out and sign a Jose Macias, that's a problem, at least in my book. I'm just suprised that the ownership didn't do anything about the fact that Neifi just plainly sucks, and try to force the manager to play the young players. Oh well. *shrug* Not to nitpick, but we actually traded for Macias. Oh, no, I meant this past off-season. Wasn't he an FA before we resigned him?
  6. Well, I do see your point. But I think the responsibility of ownership is basically to provide a nice payroll, and to hire someone competent to run the baseball team. Now, I can't and won't defend those signings. But I think most people would say that, overall, Hendry has done a good job running the Cubs. Others think that he hasn't, and they certainly can bring up valid points to back it up. But they have a guy, who in most baseball circles, would be considered successful. So to me, that shows that the ownership isn't a problem for this team. I think they've held up their end of the deal. Yeah, I understand what ya'll are talking abou the ownership. I just kept thinking that the GM position is part of the ownership, or at least a share, but I got that mixed up. There's nothing I can do about the signings. However, as a fan, the majority of the signings I won't complain too much. It's just that I don't see a logical reason to keep Macias, Wilson (before he was gone), and some others. I agree that JH has done a good job running the Cubs. Believe me, it could have been worse, like the GM for the Mets that one time before he got canned (Can't remember his name, but IIRC, he hasn't gotten any offers since he got canned.) I'm not sure if you're referring to Ed Lynch, former Cubs GM who, I believe, played and may have worked in the front office with the Mets, or Steve Phillips, former Mets GM. I'm guessing it's one of the two though... Speaking of Ed Lynch, I remember him being retained after his firing (er, demotion, I guess) as a scout or something. Anyone know if he is still in the organization? Phillips, that's the one I was trying to refer to. Thanks. :D

  8. I feel the same way, but at least it's not on the top of the line-up, thankfully.

I'm just suprised that the ownership didn't do anything about the fact that Neifi just plainly sucks, and try to force the manager to play the young players. Oh well. *shrug* Jim Hendry isn't the owner of the Cubs. Ah, I guess I was thinking differently than the rest of ya'll. My bad. Carry on.

  11. Ugh. Would rather see Barrett at the 6th spot and Hollansworth at the 8th. Still, not too shabby I guess. *shrug*
  12. "Even me?" "Even you, Dorn." /Major League "What if we don't finish dead last?" "She'll replace you with someone else, and send you back to the minors, or give you outrighted release." "Well, there's one thing left to do then." "What's that?" "Win the whole ****ing thing."
  13. The Formula is easy to figure out. Win, and you increase your chances to be in the playoffs. Lose, and you increase your chances to be shipped into the minors or given an outright release.
  14. Actually, in that AB Palmeiro walked. It was earlier they showed his prior AB where he grounded out. Did anyone else think it was just a little too convenient that the first Rangers batter they cut to, Soriano, got a hit? And at the very next moment, Palmeiro happened to be up? It was almost like ESPN knew in advance, as if, even though they called it "Live Bonus Coverage" there may have been a tape delay of a up to a minute or two for one of those segments? It's possible that they may had used a tape delay.
  15. Every time I think of Mark Cuban, I think of him as a Steinbrenner in the NBA.
  16. Question is, exactly how good is the Yankee's farm system? I keep hearing that it's not very good, even though I couldn't get a real solid confirmation.
  17. Man, I'm just glad that we don't have him anymore. I just got enough ulcers from watching him trying to save a game.
  18. Also keep an eye out on ESPN. They might cut off from normal programming and broadcast that. Right now, they're broadcasting for Raffy's 3000th hit.
  19. I don't think they're trying to freeze him. They've had a pitcher and CF hurt. It didn't look like either were faking it. Ah, well I'm just only seeing it on gameday, so I'm just assuming, that is all.
  20. Man, the 6th inning is taking a long time. Now Nix, the CF for the Rangers gets hurt after making a catch. Causing even more delay. Looks like the Rangers are trying to freeze his arm.
  21. If my gameday is correct, Rich Harden is having a perfect game thru six innings for the A's, aganist the Rangers.
  22. He usually get around somewhere between 70-90 walks, while between 120-140 strikeouts when he was playing for the Brewers before he went to the Mets and that he had a bad stay at LA. Right now he has 35 walks, which is projected to at least 70 walks, in my opinion. But he does have 59 strike outs. I think Burnitz could finish with a .260-.270 with at least 30 HR's and 80-90 RBI's, if he doesn't go on a brutal slump. As for his OBP, I would guess around .330.
