  1. Hmm.... 3 pages later, and still no response from bring stone back.
  2. Better than me, I'll check yahoo.com or espn.com for updates a couple times at work (NSBB is blocked and Gamecast doesn't work at the office). I'd get a new office ! I agree. I would throw a fit if my workplace network did block NSBB and MLB Audio. I'd be like, NSBB is a family site, you ain't gotta worry about that. And that I want to listen to some baseball games instead of some annoying office song.
  3. Well Ramirez is sort of locked up, it's just a matter of whether he opts out or not after this year. I cant think of a better option at 3B. How much does he have left? "I want to be a Cub for the rest of my life." I think it would take a lot for Ramirez to opt out. Either a season so astronomically good that he knew for sure that he could get a lot more on the FA market, or major shakeups that he didn't like involving the Cubs. I highly doubt he opts out. I hope he doesn't opt out either. I can't remember that one statistic, on how many 3rd basemen the Cubs used ever since Santo retired, but it was a high number.
  4. Hmm... not sure where he got that information from. Try 5th place.
  5. I think much of the "debate" is like two ships passing in the night and never catching sight of one another. No one to my knowledge has said that speed is a bad things. All else equal give me the faster guy. I think what has been discussed is the value of speed as a stand alone tool. In my opinon as a stand alone it has no real value at all. hits with speed>hits power with speed>power Field/arm with speed>field/arm Plate discipline with speed>plate discipline speed without any of the above = speed speed without any of the above = go run track, you no hit, no power, no glove, no arm, no eye loser. I think we have one or two of them. Pagan and Bynum! :D
  6. I'm in. I think he'll be a good one for the Cubs.
  7. Considering that the game isn't until tomorrow, I doubt it. Yep. I still hope that yesterday's line-up will be used tomorrow though. I thought that yesterday's line up was the best I seen so far.
  8. And becoming a good fan favorate. I remember we used to call him "Dumpster" awhile back before he converted to a reliever/closer, and he has done a fine job. I still love the part where he was making fun of Buck and McCarver on FOX at St. Louis last year, along with the Cardinal fans. That was classic.
  9. Two words. Contract. Year. 2002 was a contract year for him as well, and he was suprisingly less idiotic then, too, and took the Giants to the World Series. I don't buy that for a second. He has the tools to manage more effectively this year and is doing a fine job thus far! That's true, he does have the tools to manage more effectively, or that maybe Jim Hendry has "Dusty-proofed" this team in a way. But it's also his contract year, and I would be betting that if he did get the Cubs in the World Series, more than likely he will be looking for a big pay-day on his next contract negoiations.
  10. Ron is downright unintelligible (I think that's the word) after Barrett hits that granny, screaming like a crazy old man. Haha, I think that would also apply for all of us. I know I was quickly screaming like a crazy man when Barrett made contact.
  11. Well, I'm not sure about the video one, but I know for sure that you can deftinaly download the audio one (Of Pat and Ron) off of JonMDavis website. JonMDavis.net Then go to his sounds page, and just click on what you need, only right click it and click "save as" to where you want to save it. I burned off a CD from that list of his, and it's deftinaly fun to listen to a various of announcers hollering and screaming on a certain play while I'm driving. Makes the trip short and also make the time go by faster.
  12. Hopefully you had Cedeno starting sherwood921.
  13. I think the reason why some of the people were wondering why Barrett was crying would be this. Just my guess. Cubs.com
  14. Ironically, the Cardinals are getting smoked by the Cubs as of lately. After the 2005 All-Star Break to now, (17 games aganist each other) the Cubs pretty much dominated St. Louis as of lately. 12 wins out of 17 games played.
  15. Hmm... I don't see the daylight saving time option on my profile. Unless its' for the Premium members.
  16. I knew when Barrett hit that ball, that ball was gone right off the start. He absolutely CRUSHED that one.
  17. Not in the Izzy household. :D I got a mental replay of Bob Euker (sp?) that inning - "Ball 4 ... Ball 8 ... Ball 12 ... Grand slam!!" Hahaha! That's what I'm saying! "JUST a bit outside!" "Ball 4" etc etc.
  18. Haha. Man, during the game thread, I said "Wild Thing" Isringhausen" and when Barrett hit that grand slam, I immediately thought of Major League, where Rick Vaughn loaded the bases with his wildness, and gave up that grand slam. Ironic, eh? :D
  19. Haha. Yeah, I almost exploded when Barrett went yard. Somehow I managed to keep it a simple "Yeah!" in fear of awaking others. You are a man of admirable restraint! Haha. Well, I know if I was married, my future wife may not be happy if I go something like "GO! GO! GONE! WOOOO!" or something like that.
  20. Yeah, I caught that on ESPN interview with him. Not exactly sure what is up with Dalton these days.
  21. Haha. Yeah, I almost exploded when Barrett went yard. Somehow I managed to keep it a simple "Yeah!" in fear of awaking others.
  22. After the Daylight Saving Time went forward, I noticed when I logged on to NSBB that the posts were an hour behind. So I had to adjust them manually from a -6 to a -5.
