Len just said it, that was a strange play... 9/10 times that ball doesn't get picked up in time. Plus, he gets to 3rd, squeeze is in play. -
I don't buy into it, especially for this team. I do think all the celebrations so far this year are a distraction. I think we need the upcoming road trip.

I don't have a problem with it from time to time. Especially on a night like tonight (I know Brewers have hit HRs). But down 1 with less than 2 outs I don't mind it when runs should be hard to come by. I agree, that is a perfectly fine way to think about it, but at the same time, if anyone can tie the game with a single swing, Rizzo is one of them. Also, if I were a Brewer's fan, I would be super happy with Rizzo laying down that bunt... which makes me pause.

I'm trying to figure out how I feel about that Rizzo bunt... I mean if they are going to give it to him, it makes sense to take it... who wouldn't want a free base... but it also takes away any chance of extra base hits... Well that was dumb.

As much as I would like to blame Joe West if we lose this game, I think it's more accurate to say we are losing because the Cubs came out swinging at everything, and they weren't good enough today to do that.

I feel like whatever scouting report the Cubs are using to swing early against this guy is directly contrary to their best game... although they might also be attempting to take Joe West out of the Game... it's tough when you have to play against 10 guys...

Rizzo is pissed, and he should be, if Joe West had seen that look, though, he probably would have tossed Rizzo.

The problem with the slide rule, is that they had to make it, because they stopped calling outs at 2nd base that made any sense. The neighborhood play meant that guys were sliding into 2nd all over the place to break up double plays. Getting rid of crazy slides would have been natural if you just get rid of the neighborhood play, no need for any new rules. The same nonsense is true with the "sliding lane" into home. I've never seen that call made correctly. Ever.

This morning (it's still Wednesday for me), the San Francisco radio guys were talking about the game, and they were joking about how they didn't like the Cubs faces, and were tired of Bryant and Rizzo and all the hype. At the time I was pissed off because why make fun of my team??? Then I realized it was because they were jealous... and now that we've won, there are going to be a whole lot more people that are "sick of the Cubs." This is what you get when you're the best. And now I say bring it on. We've waited our whole lives for this. The Chicago Cubs are the World Series Champions!!!!! I can't stop smiling.
