So I've been reading arguments lately by people who prefer players with an OPS that is driven by slugging, while others say that is a ridiculous statement, and these people desire a larger percentage coming from the hitter getting on base. I have yet to see this argument substantially proven either way, and would like it if someone, whatever position you hold, could explain your stance while statistically backing it up. Thanks.

is it that big of a deal that you have to make an extra post about it? yeah because it happens 30 times a game, and it's obnoxious your posts are prickish about 30 times a day, for no good reason. seriously, truffle. yahoo is about 2 minutes behind people here. mlb's gamecast freezes my computer while i'm at work, and unfortunatly i'm allowed neither a tv (though it's the cable company) nor radio. so, being as it is a game thread after all, i refresh these threads every few minutes when i get a chance to catch up on the game. don't pay attention if you don't like my posts. matter of fact, i'd like it all the better if you put me on ignore.

Are you really going to gripe as often as possible about people getting emotional while a game is going on? i mean, i though having an emotional investment in a sports team, their games in particular, was what being a fan is about...

i will predict that the cubs win tonight, scoring most of their runs off the "soft tossing lefty." i like lou's moves (rhyme unintentional) with the lineup, changing it around trying to find something that works against this style of pitching (9-16 against them, iirc). 6-3.
