  1. Cedeno was trying to bunt and he gets walked on 4 pitches.
  2. murton singled, according to gameday I'd have a hard time seeing them calling a single and an error on that play.
  3. Cedeno showing bunt and the first pitch almost nails him.
  4. Murton doubles to left! The LF dived and couldn't hold it!
  5. Force play at 2nd base, inning over. Half inning of course.
  6. On the pregame they just said the Cubs don't want to play him back-2-back days when there is a night game followed by a day game. Thus with the day game tomorrow, he sits tonight.
  7. Wow yahoo says DeRosa back up to hit now. What a guy, he's everywhere.
  8. Kendall found something he can do well? I hate not being able to watch this game. HATE IT!
  9. From looking at the boxscore I'm shocked Marquis hasn't given up more than 3 runs tonight.
  10. I missed seeing this game. No big loss apparently.
  11. No because (a) they are 6 games behind the cardinals, and (b) their organization doesn't have a horseshoe up its butt Yes the Cardinals are so historically lucky it took them 24 years between titles and blowing a 3-1 lead in the 1985 World Series, 3-2 lead in the 1987 World Series, 3-1 lead in the 1995 NLCS among other playoff failures. they've made it to the playoffs quite a few more times than the cubs. They make it there more often and lose in Cub-like fashion fairly often so again I don't see where the Cards are the miracle lucky franchise with the lucky horseshow wedged in the nether regions.
  12. Bobby Hill, Jason Dubois, etc. Career major league numbers: Matt Murton: 293/363/440 Hee Seop Choi: 240/349/437 Bobby Hill: 262/343/350 Jason Dubois: 233/286/443 Bad comparison. Why? It remains true in my eyes that people here overvalue homegrown talent by a far margin. For a corner OF those numbers aren't exactly favorable to Murton he barely provides any more power than Choi or Dubois in a corner OF position unless you are looking for the corner OF equivalent of Mark Grace at 1B. Minus the gold glove fielding ability of course.
  14. Bobby Hill, Jason Dubois, etc. But.......I'm not trying to dismiss Murton. I do think he has the talent to get it done but he's become a victim of circumstance and it's just too late in the season to change that. Matt might be better off getting dealt at the deadline.
  15. I don't see the Cardinals going anywhere, they just beat the Brewers 3 out of 4 just as Cincinnati did but do you see anyone saying BEWARE THE REDS? If the Cubs end up in a position of seriously having to worry about being passed by St Louis it will be because the Cubs started playing crap baseball, not because the Cards starting playing .750 ball the remainder of the year.
  16. Just out of curiosity, did you want the Cubs to sign Carlos Lee in the offseason because he killed the ball at Wrigley field? After reading your post all I can think about is Jeff Blauser. :?
  17. Hopefully the last 8 games provides hope that DLee can get that power back. Seeing him go yard to the opposite field today is certainly encouraging.
  18. That or he is tired of playing for a crap team. I think a trade to the Cubs would recharge his batteries quite a bit.
  19. Jay Payton? Seriously? What exactly does he add that the Cubs don't have already. :?
