  1. In 6 years, Soriano's salary probably won't look bad at all and won't come anywhere near being 1/5 of the payroll. Imagine how many huge contracts will be inked between now and then. It still amazes me that people are bitter about Soriano's contract. The deal is done and the guy was having a solid year for the Cubs before he got hurt. What does it really matter what he is making at this point, it certainly did not stop the Zambrano deal from getting done and I doubt it stops any future deals from being done unless the new owner is a tightwad. But if the new owner is a tightward then we will have bigger concerns than Soriano's contract.
  2. Dunn and Griffey absolutely have DESTROYED Jeff Soupcan in their careers.
  3. INDIANA for sure! The Hoosiers need to get to that bowl game finally. The schedule should yield 7-8 wins but I've learned not to get cocky or confident about IU football.
  4. 20 hits today? So Big Z and Lilly get shelled but Jason Marquis gets the lone win of the series. :?
  5. Probably because of your Phil Jackson avatar. He is pure evil.
  6. be careful, word on the street is that Jeter gave her the herp.
  7. You said the Pen is the # 1 issue. Unless I read you wrong. with the fonz and ramirez back, it is It's not. The offense is still the major issue and has been all year long. I wouldn't go that far, the bullpen was a very significant issue early in the season when the Cubs lost AT LEAST 15 games probably more due to a failure to hold leads. I mean yes, you can say the offense could have scored more in those games but I just remember way too many leads slipping away in the 6th inning or later. Right now, the bullpen doesn't bother me too much. Most of the bullpen's really bad outings seem to happen when the Cubs are losing anyways and the offense hasn't put any pressure on the other team. But I don't see nearly as many blown leads.
  8. Even a spilt wouldn't be the end of the world. not with another MIL win tomorrow That still would not be the end of the world unless you truly think the Cubs falling 2.5 back would mean the season is over.
  9. Even a spilt wouldn't be the end of the world. Right. I'm just saying.......for all the sniping I'm reading on these last few pages, it just makes me wonder sometimes. But it's par for the course here, I know.
  10. I don't know about anybody else but the way the Cubs limped into this series without Soriano or Ramirez against a Rockies club that had just swept the Brewers, I would have been pretty happy with heading into the Sunday game with a 2-1 edge and the chance to win the series.
  11. Rapada was up here, I remember that quite clearly.
  12. He is also a Miami Hurricane. Darn the U!
  13. Yeah the bleeping ump was smirking about it there before they went to commercial. Smug jackbooted little this and that.
  14. Well the Cubs got lucky with two bases loaded situations last night, guess you can't expect to keep coming out of those jams. :(
  15. Thank you Len & Bob for educating me about the 6th Rolling Stone.
  16. Hey he has a plan and he stuck to it.
  17. Len just called that a "tip your cap moment"
  18. I didn't think Fogg got squeezed in that inning but maybe that is just me.
