  1. I have no problem with Castro out of the 8 spot, its just funny to me that once again Lou says one thing repeatedly, and then within a week he completely ignores what he said.
  2. What in the holy wide world of [expletive] is this? So much for leaving Castro in the 8th spot huh Lou, that last 5 games?
  3. Sulley, where are you? Its your time to shine buddy
  4. It wouldn't be a bad thing if they moved them down, it's just not worth getting upset over them not. Put it this way, going forward, who has the better remainder of the season, Lee or Byrd/Soriano? Can you say Byrd or Soriano with enough confidence to justify mocking the decision to keep Lee in the heart of the order? But its not about who has the better remainder of the season, its who is having the better season/week at this point. I wasnt clamoring for Lee/Aram to be moved down when they 1st started struggling, but this has evolved way past a mini slump. We are talking 15 for his last 90 with 1 HR, and 1 double for Lee in that span, and Aram has been all year. Once they start hitting you move them back up, its not like they are being moved down for some slouches, or have to remain there for the rest of the year. They need to start winning games on a DAILY basis, and not worry about who has the better numbers at the end of the season, because right now, Sori and Soto are head and shoulders above Lee/Aram.
  5. Keep them in lineup yes, but keeping them in the heart of the order while 2 guys OPS over 1.000 in the 6 and 7 spot....no. Let them work their kinks out in the bottom of the lineup, not right in the middle where most of their RBI chances should come. Again, if they don't pick it up it doesn't matter, so you may as well keep them there and hope today is the day they bounce back, especially since the guys who would be there instead have sketchy histories too. I guess if you think there's something physically wrong with Ramirez you could move him down, but really the frustration is misplaced. Why can you only move him down if something is physically wrong? Move them down and if today is the day they break out, great, because the 2 guys who should be hitting in front of them will probably be on base like they have been all year. Its a win win if you move them down. If they struggle fine, if they start hitting, great, because that means Byrd, Sori, and Soto will probably be scoring a lot of runs in the game.
  6. Keep them in lineup yes, but keeping them in the heart of the order while 2 guys OPS over 1.000 in the 6 and 7 spot....no. Let them work their kinks out in the bottom of the lineup, not right in the middle where most of their RBI chances should come.
  7. Hahaha Lee moved down........to 4th! WTF now we have Lee and Aram back to back in the middle of the lineup. Good old Lou,
  8. Confidence is not something that Castro lacks. The kid is 20 yrs old and already in the majors, I highly doubt fans boo'ing him on a terrible play is going to shake his confidence. He knows it was a dumb mistake, and the biggest thing is he learns from it, and it doesnt happen again.
  9. Any interest in McHale? http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5179420
  10. This game is on CSN + due to the Blackhawks game
  11. What? It's not like he'd be banished there forever. He's not some fragile little flower blissfully unaware of how bad he is this season. You can't keep a hitter THAT bad in the middle of your lineup. Why not? Does it even really matter? I just think 6 weeks is way too early to be dropping him that far in the lineup. Hit him 6th fine, but 8th is just ridiculous IMO. Edit: Although I guess I remember Torre doing that to ARod in a playoff game once, so maybe I'm overreacting. My point is that it's generally an overreaction. I agree it's testing my patience for him to slump this wrong, but he's obviously got a track record that suggests he'll never snap out of it. It's not like he just randomly got horrible over the offseason. He's too young to be declining at a rapid pace, so he's either hurt or he's in a really bad slump that he'll likely be out of soon. He may be "young" but his body has played a lot of baseball, and has had quite a few injuries to it. Im not saying hes done, but stranger things have happened. Moving him down in the lineup isn't a slap in his face at all. Its about the team winning and right now, him and Lee at 3-4 or 3-5 doesn't give this team the best chance at winning. He should understand that, and as soon as he starts swinging it better he moves back up. Its not like hes being benched.
  12. I disagree on Lou. Im not saying hes the problem with this team, but getting a new voice in there can help things out. Even if its just moving Trammel to manager, and promoting Ryno to bench coach, at least itd give them something different. The players we have we are stuck with, so why not change the 1 place where they can, the manager. Lou has no answers, he has said just that, and hell look at tonight, 2 close plays on the bases that go against us, and he says nothing. Terrible strike zone all night long, and he says nothing. I know him getting kicked out isnt going to make them hit, but it sure would be nice to see something from him. Obviously what hes tried so far this year and last year hasnt worked, so bring in somebody new, and let them have their shot. Lou acts and looks like a beaten old man, who is out of answers, and is just there to ride out the rest of his contract.
  13. Hadnt heard that, but it definitely wouldnt surprise me. Lou got angry with them last year, and ever since they have all kissed his ass every day. They arent scared to talk [expletive] about Milton, or Soriano, but heaven forbid they question Saint Lou
  14. You called it. They really grilled him there. It really is ridiculous how easily lead around the sports media is in a market this big. Bruce Levine is at the top of the list. Every time I hear or read his comments, I feel like I'm listening to one of the team's PR reps. Levine, Miles, Sullivan. it doesn't matter. All of them are scared of Lou
  15. Not 1 meaningful question in the post game. Man what a bunch of little bitches this media is
  16. I agree because then our best hitters would all be at the bottom of the lineup
  17. I set the over/under at 2 questions from the media tonight before the press conference ends with awkward silence. Oh yea, because he already said yesterday hes done answering questions about the lineup, because "What are you going to do". UGH
  18. Yes horrible idea. Tracy isn't the answer for the short term. There really isnt much we can do with ARam right now, except for get him out of the middle of the order
  19. Man I wish the Chicago media wasn't a bunch of pussys. In most other big market places Lou would be getting grilled and his job would be getting questioned, but not here with Lou.
