  1. There is NO reason at all for Izturis to be in the lineup with the way Theriots has been hitting. I thought Lou said he would play the hot hand? Well Lou the only hot hand Izturis has is his hand high fiving somebody when he walks back to the dugout after he K's and they say"Dont worry get them next time" and then go to the plate laughing hysterically.
  2. Ahhh there it is. Zambrano will be worse because you don't like the way he acts. Ya its funny how these Brewer fans are acting like Sheets is the next coming, and Z is a "barely contained lumpy(if u are calling Z lumpy I think you need to call Sheets lumpy) wildman consisting chiefly of high fastballs and animal fury?
  3. Where are the lineups? I havent seen them yet
  4. Whos to say the pipe wasnt packed already? Believe me, it can be done if the person wants it, and not that difficulty involved. Why would someone leave a pipe packed for a period of time? Ive seen people take a hit off a pipe and lay it down go do something and come back to it and just light and take a hit.

  6. Given the situation, he probably wasn't high at the time. Simply b/c of the timeframe of leaving the stadium, heading out to Shannon's, and then going to a diff. spot, he would've had to light up in the car. They'll prob. find pot in his system just not from that night. People light up in cars all the time, as well as in the parking lot before pulling out. I don't know many people who keep weed on them who don't take every chance to smoke it. It was in his rental car, that he had just gotten a couple days before. In my experience, the people who have weed with them in a car, will not hesitate to smoke, especially once they're already buzzed. I would be surprised if he hadn't smoke some. That would be the only way, he couldn't light it while driving. Why couldnt he light it while driving?
  7. 8.55 grams of weed? So he pretty much had a quarter right? Add that into the .157 and ya he was messed up. He was almost twice the legal driving limit and had been smoking weed. He is very lucky to not have killed someone, and I really wonder how much the Cardinals knew about his drinking/smoking problem. It sounds from other articles that they "knew" he had a drinking problem and had "talked" to him about it. Doesnt MLB test for weed? How often? Then again its not hard to pass a piss test i guess.
  8. The injuries are in the past, even though hes already left a start early in the first month of the season? Injury not injuries. The back injury is what ruined his seasons in '05 and '06. Pulling him from the game with a groin strain in 40 degree weather was a precaution. He returned the next start and pitched as well as he's pitched all year. Remember the "finding his curveball" part? His curve started dropping in that last start. With his curveball dropping like it used to, expect the Ks to go up, as that's his "out" pitch, and hits and ERA to go down. Well call me pessimistic, but until Sheets finishes a full year of pitching I dont trust him. To me hes more at risk of being hurt than Zambrano. I know Z has had a big workload in the past but Sheets is a rather big guy, and its hard to rid yourself of a back injury. When healthy he is usually a great pitcher, but so are Mark Prior and Kerry Wood.
  9. Its between .290-.300. He certainly won't be as bad as he has been this year, but he'll be the pitcher who posted a 3.64 ERA/ 1.34 post all star break last year who only had 2 really good months the entire season. He has been abused for 3+ years and its catching up to him. And what will Ben Sheets be? About the same - fewer walks, about the same number of hits and a slightly higher propensity to cough up gopher balls. Ben Sheets has finally figured out his curveball, which bodes poorly for opposing hitters. It's easy to forget just how good Ben Sheets is since he's been hurt for so long, but his 2005 numbers were stellar before his injury, and his '06 numbers weren't terrible, either. They steadily improved from July. This tells me the injury is in the past, and he has his stuff back. The injuries are in the past, even though hes already left a start early in the first month of the season?
  10. Damn, man. Noc sure doesn't hold back. Not sure that's the most wise tactic against the Pistons. I think this is getting blown out of proportion. Seriously what do you expect him to say? Im sure everybody on the Bulls thinks they will win, and likewise for the Pistons. Its not like he came out saying "We are going to sweep them, they arent that good".

  12. Board nazi, maybe we should just condense them all down into one thread so all u board nazis and spelling nazis can be happy
  13. And your basis for this is what? Still waiting.... I think that might have been sarcasm. I dont think it was. If I recall hes posted on here before about Zambrano. I believe it dealt with saying Sheets was far and away a better pitcher than Z coming into the season.
  14. Their lineup to date is better than the Cubs. I just don't think they are running away with the div., which I loosely define as being 10 games up on Sept. 1. They very well could win it, however. Will it continue to be so once Soriano starts to hit? Having gotten nothing from Soriano, the Brewers have still only scored 5 more runs than the Cubs - 117-112. and will hill, lilly and marquis continue to be three of the best pitchers in the NL? Will Z continue to suck? Will our 5 starter spot continue to put up a 10+ ERA? Yes Z will continue to suck, though the 5th slot is sure to be better. And your basis for this is what? Still waiting....
  15. Ya we should move him down in the order hes overrated. Just look at the gamethread from the other day. :D
  16. Ok so it does appear anyway that the Cubs took more action against Speier than the Cards did against Larussa. I know they were in different positions but I would think with Larussa being in a higher profile position that the Cards should have at least recommended some kind of counseling. What that has to do with this situation Im not really sure, but who know if the Cards would have taken on a harder stance with Larussal, maybe this could have been prevented, but thats all speculation.
  17. Would the Packers have enough cap room to be able to keep Moss if he hadn't restructured? That's what I heard was the biggest hangup on the deal-Moss was only willing to re-structure his deal to go to the Patriots, and nobody else had the ability to take on the contract otherwise. BTW, the Packers selected a very interesting prospect there-OT Allen Barbre. I dont know about the cap space, but ESPN is reporting that the only reason a deal didnt get done with the Pack is because the Pack wouldnt give up a 4th rounder, instead offering only a 5th.
  18. Hopefully the message gets across to all teams though. Remember, the Cubs had their own DUI issue last year with Speier. I think he took a leave of abscence following his arrest, so it's a little unclear how exactly the Cubs handled the situation. Did they brush it under the rug by pushing a disposable coach aside. How would they handle that with a manager, or player? This reflects very poorly on the Cards, especially with the LaRussa situation coming first. But it's definitely an issue for every team. I agree. Regarding the Speir DUI though, didnt the Cubs make him take a leave of absense?
  19. So who did the Packers get with their 4th round pick? Cause they wouldnt give up that pick to get Moss, they were offering a 5th rounder. THere is noway in hell that 4th rounder is going to help them more than what Moss could have. Pretty stupid move on the Pack if you ask me, but Im glad they were stupid.

  21. It's an interesting article in which Jocketty appears to be in damage control mode. And I still don't like the lax attitude Jocketty is displaying RE: Tony's indiscretions. It's also pretty clear he was lying when he told people he'd forgotten the early start time of the game he was late to, considering he told the cops: And so the plot thickens. This could get really ugly for the Cardinals before all is said and done.
  22. That looked like a hyperextended knee, not really a hammy. His knee kinda buckled when he landed
  23. Now Hughes is hurt WTF Hes gone hammy
  24. There is noway in hell Dusty understands why Bobby Abreu is leading off tonight. I mean hes a power hitter wtf....lol
