    I have come to live with the streaks of Soriano, but his half assing, terrible route running, cant field a ground ball cleanly 2 steps from him in the OF ass is starting to really annoy me in LF. The guy isnt hitting, fine, he will get hot and hit. But, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, play some freaking defense out there.

    What did he say? I really cant recall the exact quote, but it was something about Fox being in RF and Dempster is hoping nothing is hit to the right side of the field tonight or something. I had the game on in the background while playing Uno with my son, so I cant recall the exact phrasing. Nevertheless, its something that really didnt need to be said, and something I would expect from Marty Brennamen(sp) or some douche like that.

    I thought the shot Brenly took at Fox while doing the starting lineups was completely out of line and uncalled for. There was no need to make his little smartass comment like he did.

    Leaving Fox in was the right move. Rhodes was ready in the pen if they brought in Fuku or Hoffpauir. I like Fox vs a righty much better than Fuku or Hoff against a lefty that has been dominant this season. Regardless of Lou not allowing Fuku to start vs leftys this year, hes hit them well this year. Plus Bradley was still on the bench wasnt he?

    Ok another game, another beauty from our manager. Why was Fox allowed to bat in the 8th inning against Weathers? Yea he hit a sac fly(barely) but when Fuku and Hoff are still on your bench there is no reason for Fox to face the Rh pitcher Weathers. Also, had Lou taken Marshall out in the 10th when he had Ascanio warming up, omg I would have went ballistic. There really was no reason for Ascanio to be warming up. Many people may say Im nitpicking, but its not nitpicking when the same stuff keeps happening over and over again.

    Really? His 3 year combined OPS against RH pitching is over .800., and surely he can outhit Aaron Miles, Bobby Scales, etc...

    Aurilia yes, Atkins, no. Granted hes been on the steady decline since his breakout 2006, but hes was very good in '07 and solid in '08. I cant see him continuing to be this bad this year. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they spent the offseason trying to dump him and give his job to someone else. Wed probably end up splitting the remainder of his 7 million dollar salary, but surely we could afford that rather than giving up more valuable prospects for a rent a player. The problem with Atkins is when Aram comes back he has nowhere to play. A guy like Betemit when Aram comes back can play SS and 2nd base, meaning goodbye Miles and or Freel. Atkins plays 3rd and 1st thats it, and makes alot of money for a guy we would be hoping to do something. Betemit comes cheap, and has OPS'd over .800 against RH pitching for the last 3 years combined. Betemit just makes too much sense.

    It wouldnt be that tough a decision if we'd stop holding a spot on the roster for a pitcher who pitches every 2 weeks.

    Hooray for playing a man short ONCE AGAIN this season. How about we just get rid of David freaking Patton, and call up another position player for Christs sake.

    According to Lou, they will evaluate him today, and make the decision to DL him or not. Lou also said the problem with DL'ing him is he isnt sure there is anybody down there to call up. Got to love our high minor leagues.

    79 career appearances at shortstop, 17 at second base. His 2008 defensive season broke down as follows: 1B: 36 appearances (21 starts) 3B: 21 appearances (9 starts) SS: 14 appearances (4 starts, though keep in mind that he was with the Yankees and we know Captain Intangibles never takes a day off) 2B: 3 appearances (all starts) I certainly don't know how well he covers the middle infield positions, but clearly teams haven't been afraid to use him there. I'd take a flyer on him. Yea after looking at his stats Id definately take a flyer on him. His 3 year splits as a LH hitter hes put up an OPS over .800. Also with a guy like him, when Aram does come back, he can fill in other positions. Give me Betemit over Miles, Scales, Blanco, and Fox right now.

    Id be for taking out a flyer on Betemit. He has a respectable .756 career OPS and hed be an upgrade over the crap carousel weve seen since we lost Ramirez. Granted he wouldnt be much of an upgrade, but better than nothing. kind of. He could hold us off until the ownership gives Hendry the go ahead to do something. Yea thats the first thing I thought of when I heard of Beckham being called up. I know Betemit plays 3rd, but can he play SS and 2nd also? Surely he would be a better option than Scales, Blanco, or Miles wouldnt he?

    He is a good hitter...for a pitcher. He is an ok guy to use as a PH in like the 4th or 5th inning of a game.

    When did this happen? He's been above average to great every year in the majors so far. JeffH is the king of hyperbole.
