    only the Cubs! baseball players should not be allowed to have names that start with a "C". I spent almost a full minute trying to figure out why Pena was playing catcher.

    Moises Alou. He was a player who exemplified the Dusty victim attitude. I irrationally hate him as much as, if not more than Dusty. How awesome is it that there's an Alou reference and a peeing in strange places reference in the same thread and they are relatively unrelated?!

    Beside the fact that it ends speculation, it allows them to plan pitchers' outings accordingly during the cactus league schedule.

    Horrible, should've traded him the to rays. There goes money for Pujols to be sent into another guaranteed injury. Never ever sign relievers to contracts longer than 1 year. Hendry needs to go. Please TT I'll sign the petition.

    We do, but that picture doesn't piss me off. It just makes me sigh wistfully. It just reminds me that the Giants and Phillies could turn into, well, us, within four months. Not without Dusty they can't.

    This is it. There's no one on this team that is outstanding. Z and Soriano have had flashes of being able to "carry a team". With Sori, those only come in stretches and he can't do it over the course of the season. The biggest question mark is Zambrano. He's going to be good, and those that think he's "done" are nuts, but I do question whether he has enough in the tank to be the dominant stopper we've seen in the past. Beyond that, there's no real force on this team, just a great group of complementary players. Hopefully several of them will be a notch better and that will be enough.

    Theriot, is that you? Um...no. But I don't hate Theriot for the things he said. He needed to "prove" himself to the common (get a brain morans) cardinals fan. My hate toward Theriot is for many other reasons.

    I agree. the Cubs are more likely to be trading for Teixeira than signing Pujols in 2012, and yes I know Tex has a NTC.

    Agreed. But it's always sold out instantly from what I've read. It's been an extremely popular ticket. 2 years ago it would be unheard of that the convention wouldn't sell out within the first hour of tickets going on sale. Dis this have anything to do with the trib selling to ticket brokers they owned? Has Ricketts stopped this practice?

    I doubt he'd strike out that many as a starter. Sure he would. The question is would he healthy to do it again the next year.

    This could be another example of accidental excellence by Cubs management. In a lost cause year, Z got used less than he has in years. We were all questioning the wear and tear on that arm. This could be good in the long run. Cubs in 2011!!

    I agree 100%. It was a tongue in cheek reference to a thread which linked an article that listed him among the "worst" .300 hitters this year.
