    i agree leaving him alone is best but we really need someone who can eat some innings in case marshall bombs. Hill and Marshall need the rest. Petrick will be able to come back July 14th, 2nd game back (10 days). Looks as if zambrano will start sunday and friday. Giving everyone the rest they need. Z is on a roll and will gladly take the ball. Hill and Marshall will get probably 10-12 days off apiece with the all star break

    no way texas gets enough in that deal. If Teixeria is moved they are getting a frontline starter and prospects. i'd love to get saltamaccia but it would take quite a bit to get him too

    Recent signing Bret Prinz gonna be the guy? Got Waived by ChiSox after 2 IP of perfect ball then picked up by cubs. Pitched 1 IP for iowa on saturday. unless a trade is coming, its gonna be cotts, prinz or Pignitallo

    good chance hendry steps up his efforts for gagne now. his quote on WSCR was encouraging. made it sound like jones was gone by monday when they are calling up a 12th pitcher and that the pitcher taking his spot wasn't coming up from minors.

    Barret 18% 7 for 39 (3 lefties pitching) Bowen 12% 3 for 23 (maddux and Young are slow to plate) How many runners moved up on passed balls for barrett. Neither are good. but bowen wont fight our players. Good trade. good obp for bowen.

Norwell, which plays Saturday in the semistates, is 32-0 and ranked No. 1 in Class 3A. 6 bb and 1 er all year. 3bb and that ER was against Class 4A (indiana's biggest class) #2 ranked Carroll about 5 games into the season. The coach has used 5 pitchers this season. Parkers pitches 7-10 innings a week. Coach has said he wont sacrifice his arm for the teams sake.

    wonder if he could possibly get a spot start with alot of games left before an off day. Marquis threw a lot of pitches last night and lilly looks like he could use an extra day. but wuertz struggles with back to back appearances and he needs a day off. Wade Miller looks like the 40 man casualty, although there is about 15 people that should be casualties.

    i watched the video and didn't see the game. But i seriously think barrett touched zambrano first. If you watch barretts left hand it looks like he grabs or touches zambrano as if he wasn't done talking. Zambrano was starting to turn around. Maybe i am seeing things but we could be pointing the fingers at the wrong guy.

    He relies on fastball alot. But his slider is very good. His changeup works because most kids gear up for the heat, but its his weakest pitch right now. Very good location on his fastball. Throws most pitches close enough you have to protect but can't make good contact. The AD loaded up their schdedule this year. They have faced quite a few bigger and high ranked schools. THey are 22-0 i believe. Very good mound presence and doesn't seem to get rattled.

    Jarrod Parker.... I have seen this kid 3 times. He put on 25 lbs of muscle in the offseason. He added 3-4 mph on his fastball since last season. 40 scouts at a recent game. 2 different guns had him touching 98 in the 7th inning. The one thing about him is his coach isn't riding him to the state championship. He knows what his future holds. he pithces once maybe twice depending on how many games they play a week. Being from the same county he attends high school i'd love to see him play for the cubs.

    Murton and his obp gives the cubs the best option there. At the very least he'd move soriano over for lee and aram to drive him in. Jones' high strikeout rate doesn't give us good flow to start the game. Let jones hit 7th with no pressure on him. I'd put barrett in the 2 hole before jones.

    the twins will catch the sox with or without soriano. They are doing it without hunter or stewart. The sox 2005 complete games are catching up to them. Everyone thought it was cool when they went 4 straight games with a CG. ask buerhle if it was cool now.

    the one thing about 2 of prior's walks... is they both started innings , both on 4 straight. then the very next pitch fielder and anothehr guy grounded into double plays. So they didn't hurt very much. Jacque jones blown judgement of a ball in the first inning, nevin's bum leg (fouled off shin) that let 2 guys score on a blooper with 2 outs. Prior pitched well. had a 1-2 pitch on his 49th pitch in the 4th inning to get out of 4 but then 2 more guys got up. coulda been through 4 with 49 pitches. but ended with 55. Pitched very well today. He hit 94 a couple of times. Speier not sure why he didn't send aramis. he coulda crawled home.

    those are just guys i go after.... Valentine has outs in his deal if he gets a deal over here he likes. I also like Tony Gwynn as a manager candidate.

    as much as i would love that... Barry Zito will be the most sought out pitcher on the market. when was the last time the best free agent pitcher got only 9 mill a year.

    he waved chicago and boston because they both have troubles with their outfielders, and both have plenty of money coming off books next year. This is a business decision for him not a personal playing preference
