  1. That wasn't your original point. You were bagging on Skiles because the Bulls got rid of Thomas, and I'm saying the Bulls are a better team without him because they have two significantly better players at the 3. Sure, Thomas doesn't really fit in at the 4, but I'd rather have him there than Malik Allen.
  2. I used # of hits too! :D you equated someone hitting .353 to someone hitting .261 because they both have six hits. Nevermind the fact that one of those players accomplished this feat in 6 fewer at bats. That is seriously the worst use of baseball statistics that i have ever seen in my entire life. Extrapolate those numbers out to a full season. Are you still going to say that two players with 180 hits are equal even though one has done it in 100 or so fewer at bats? Especially because it is not due to injury or time on the bench - most of those missing ABs are walks!
  3. If I recall correctly, he was the one who had 3 picks off of McNabb in the NFC Championshp game to propel the Panthers into the Super Bowl that year they lost to the Pats.
  4. Was that a changeup to k Abercrombie?
  5. All his stuff has been electric so far. Hoplefully his feel for location will improve as he gets deeper into the game.
  6. Plus, they told us that Derrek can't even floss. And they refferenced Niefi's gold glove.
  7. 1. Am I the only one encouraged by Z's reaction to the homer? He laughed it off, and stayed cool. Plus, with his heat, down the middle at the knees is not that bad a pitch. 2. They are going to show hightlights from game 6? Why? Is this going to keep happening every time we play the Marlins? Its been 3 years.
  8. Well have to agree to disagree. I think putting that much more stock in him over numerous other star-caliber prospects because of 16 spring training plate appearances is foolish at best. Dude, your missing the point. If they offered Justin for Carlos Beltran, the Mets would be stupid not to take it. This is about value, and players like Justin Upton are too rare to pass up.
  9. He must be on the juice. :D Odwala? No, the other one...Naked Juice
  10. whoever wins the first game will win the series, IMO.
  11. Would someone who has experience with said injuries like to wildly speculate?
  12. hopefullly this means we'll be seeing much less of Mabry. old school managers hate stuff like that
  13. I wouldn't have minded seeing Lee a spot or two higher, but I think Z was that high because of his ability to stay healthy, which is invaluable for a pitcher. You're not considered the 11th best player in the league because you can stay healthy. He's the 3rd highest ranked pitcher on the list. All of these pitchers come before Zambrano if I am starting a team: - Jo. Santana - C. Carpenter - J. Peavy - R. Oswalt - D. Willis - J. Beckett Ben Sheets would have been on my list, but he just can't stay healthy. And I'll gamble with Beckett. Santana, maybe. Peavy and Oswalt are about equal to Z. I wouldn't pick any of the rest though. Carp and Beckett have bad injury history. Carp is the reigning Cy Young winner...he's on the list. . Where's Colon on your list  The fact is, the Cards would never turn down a Z for Carpenter trade. Zambrano is one of the most valuable players in the game due to his stuff, statistical history, age and projectability. And as for the Dunn debate, if best "hitter" refers to something other than offensive production, then who cares a about "hitting"? A hitter's job is to produce runs, not hits.
  14. Dunn ahead of Bay? Why? Well, do you at least agree that Dunn should be higher than Sizemore and Chavez, as he's had a .370 OBP 4 out of 5 seasons. Of the two, Chavez is the only one with a season above 3.55. As for Dunn and Bay, its pretty much a toss up. They've traded off being statistically superior the last 3 seasons. Don't forget that, even though Bay has less experience, Dunn is actually a year younger. edit: beat me to it
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=silver/060418 I think its a pretty good list, except that Dunn should be ahead of Bay, and I'd put Santana at #2. Plus Zimmerman should be way higher. Discuss
  16. Koufax (Although its true that Pedro is up there) As for our generation, I go 1. Big Unit 2. Pedro 3. Clemens 4. Maddux Koufax's career high in ERA+ is 190. Pedro has 5 seasons of at least 196(avg. IP: 211). Wow, I really underestimated the difference in league ERA.
  17. Koufax (Although its true that Pedro is up there) As for our generation, I go 1. Big Unit 2. Pedro 3. Clemens 4. Maddux
  18. Yeah, all the financially motivated ones should be DQed, including this one, DLee/Choi and the Aramis trade. Also, someone should mention Barrett for Damian Miller and cash. Its not quite on the level of Giles/Rincon or Abreu/Stocker, but its gonna look even worse in 4 years. p.s. please post here very often. My one problem with this site has always been the lack of Sox fans. Especially rational ones

My draft board: 1. Aldridge 2. Thomas 3. Noah 4. Bargnai 5. Gay I really think it would be a big mistake for the Bulls to take Thomas while Aldridge is still on the board, but I'd like to see how other people have it ranked. Obviously, I mean as a fit for the Bulls, not overall. Also, how about drafting Glen Davis in the second round? We need a "presence" on the inside, right?
