  1. Has this been brought up here? http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-most-startling-trend-in-baseball/ I wonder if that has something to do with why older hitters are falling off faster.
  2. The only thing about Fowler that intrigues me is that maybe he's just so bad in CF that moving to a corner would improve his value.
  3. Especially considering I'm fairly certain that's a man dancing with several women.
  4. Finalized? Huh, I thought he'd get more/longer, but there was that report he wanted to go West Coast.
  5. If the Cubs ever leave CSN at any point in the future, that clearly justifies your tinfoilery, yes.
  6. For comparison, Fangraphs' crowd source predicted Hudson would get 2/$17.2m, and he got 2/$23. They thought Ruiz would get 2/$16.8 and he got 3/$26.
  7. I like that Trestman references the fact that while so much of football strategy seems to revolve around "giving yourself a chance," most of the team that chance is really slim.
  8. Good God, what kind of numbers do you think he's going to put up? Something between "Trout light" and "Actual Trout"
  9. I think I might take Buxton over Baez and Bryant even without throwing Sano into it.
  10. It's above my paygrade to decide whether that is god-like or stupid, but I'm leaning toward the former.
  11. When did Jennings almost die, because I only remember Steltz brain nearly exploding. On the Ravens' last offensive play of regulation when the pass went out of bounds and Jennings was acting like he was having a heart attack.
  12. Just out of curiosity, if we did tag Cutler for the purpose of trading him, what could we get?
  13. By this date last year, we had signed Baker and Navarro (plus Alberto Cabrera, JC Boscan and Brian Bogusevic, all of whom at least appeared in the big leagues last year). But in 2011, the first notable move was signing DeJesus on Nov. 30.
  14. Isn't our tiebreaker situation pretty dire?
  15. See? When Khabibulin never sees the ice, the whole game goes better.
  16. I wouldn't rule it out for Hester to try to run backwards to get an angle and get safetied.
  17. Being able to key pass because of the clock saved the game. Trestman you mad genius.
  18. At least Baltimore can't run here because of the clock.
  19. Trestman doesn't last past next year.
