That's understood, but I don't see why you're not willing to even entertain the hypothetical that a draft can set up where it makes more sense to take the pitcher. I'm not going to say it can't happen, but I will say it'd be pretty rare. Not just "a bit of a down year for college bats and a good year for pitchers."
Why? Because of some pundit rankings? Because the reality is that the college bats, in comparison to most years, suck. And the reality is that no matter how exciting the pitchers look right now, taking them adds 25% to your bust rate.
*knocks on all the wood* Still feels like health is on the Cubs' side so far this spring. All we've got is little nicks on Arrieta and Olt. They're starting to pile up elsewhere. Sano's elbow is acting up again and they are talking surgery, which might move him off 3b forever.
that was a bomb, just to the left of the 420 sign. looking forward to seeing a lot of that. Cleared the 420 easily, and it was just so easy. He didn't swing from the heels and he didn't pull it much. He just made solid contact up the middle and it went 430 feet.
We're going to be hearing a whole lot of "Wrigley Field at Corporate Plaza," I imagine. And cool for them. We need enough revenue to paper over Ricketts' incompetence and Epstein's indifference.
