    That part doesn't bother me, because they probably are good enough to get at least enough of them to make the team good for awhile. It bothers me that he's smart and savvy enough to actually make parallel fronts work, but that's not his dream experiment.

    Man, that is some effortless velocity. Simple delivery, looks like it would be easy to repeat and throw strikes. And lots of movement on those fastballs. Man, the head says "avoid HS pitcher", but you see that kind of talent and it's easy to like it. The late movement is what gets me. Late, significant and tailing in on right handers.

    It was never a flat-out steal. Cashner's good, Rizzo's good. We needed a long-term solution at 1b. And Cashner's still a pitcher with a history of arm problems.

    Al Yellon with an awesome stat pull: The Cubs haven't been over .500 and within 5 games of first after July 1 in the last five seasons. The last time they did that for a five-year stretch was 1953-1957.
