  1. They won more than they lost.
  2. He did, though. He pretty much singlehandedly carried that USC offense to one of the best performances in the nation this season. I don't know why people have this weird belief that Williams didn't have an absolutely fantastic season.
  3. Here is where Fields ranked in some passing categories: Success%: 29th, between Kenny Pickett and Will Levis ANY/A: 27th, betewen Pickett and Joshua Dobbs Passing yards: 19th, between Desmond Ritter and Dobbs QBR: 24th, between Kyler Murray and Sam Howell Sack%: 3rd, between Zach Wilson and Bryce Young Do you think the teams with Zach Wilson, Kenny Pickett, Joshua Dobbs or Will Levis are asking "man, what are the odds we find a QB better than we have?
  4. My line for getting my attention in a trade down is 3 firsts and a second, and this years first needs to be fairly high (top 10?). I want a new QB, Caleb Williams is a great qb prospect and he's right there, but it doesn't *have* to be Williams if the price is right
  5. That's like 3x what a realistic trade haul would be. Pure clickbait. I'm 100% open to trading down and taking a different QB. Trading the pick doesn't mean we aren't ditching Fields. It's over, Fields is gone.
  6. It's a pretty good offseason to be looking at a QB. I mean it always sucks not to have a QB, but there's tons of options. If you are rebuilding you'd rather just draft your own and it's a pretty QB heavy draft, there's six guys who could go in the first two rounds. If you wanna win now or just have a caretaker for a partial season, there's Cousins, Flacco, Mayfield, Tannehill, Wilson and Minshew. If you wanna split the difference and make an upside play that isn't a pure rookie, there's Browning. And there's tons of cromulent backups to go around, guys like Winston, Mariota, Wentz, Garroppolo. Maybe I'll eat these words, but I'd be surprised if any team feels pressured to offer up a haul for Fields.
  7. An elite qb can succeed with the weapons we have. But we can aim higher than merely succeeding
  8. Not interested. He will be 27 before his next snap. Just build the offense
  9. Well, given what happened when the ball was put in fields' hands in the second half of that game, I don't blame him
  10. That's what good QB play is supposed to do. That's why it's the most important position in North American sports by a wide margin. From the moment the play clock hits 15 seconds, the coaches are cut off and the QB has complete control over what adjustments are made, what checks are or are not called, and once the ball is snapped they decide where it goes.
  11. Fields is both a coach killer and a "wr not named dj Moore" killer
  12. Chiefs moved up to get Mahomes when the industry wasn't sure about him or Watson, I think?
  13. The correlary to that would be you should almost always trade down then, and I honestly don't have a great argument against it even though I do really like Williams
  14. 3 wrs in the top 10 feels like a lot when we are probably also getting 3 QBs and 2 OTs in the top 10 Oh and a tight end
  15. And we're back to confused amusement. These responses are really a trip.
  16. As an alternate approach, might I suggest reading the words that are written. It was a pretty simple sentence, not a cleverly designed fae trick to fool you into reading it wrong.
  17. This is the first time you've asked "why do you think that." I'll be glad to answer. Because you've stated several times that you believe that Fields has what it takes to be a decent starting QB in the league with different surrounding talent and coaching, and I think that opinion comes from overrating several aspects of his game, one of which is accuracy.
  18. That's my biggest complaint with the coaching staff. I don't have any huge issues with the play design or playcalling. But it feels like (and I don't have any objective data to back this up so maybe it's wrong) we have *way* more blown assignments on offense than should be considered normal. People seems confused about who to block or what route to run multiple times every single game.
  19. I'm progressing from confused to amused. It seems *very* important to you to claim some sort of status differential in this conversation. I hereby grant it to you. I acknowledge that you are higher status, cooler, of hierarchal precedence, or whatever else it is you are looking for here.
  20. I thought "His accuracy is a bigger problem than you realize." was a pretty coherent English sentence. If I had wanted to type the sentence "Justin fields is less accurate than trey Lance" I would have, but I didn't.
  21. I am genuinely surprised at how inept the lines were made to look on both sides of the ball.
  22. Do you care if this post bothers me? You don't, right? That's how much I care if me posting something that is on-topic, true and relevant makes one of them mad.
  23. I am so genuinely confused by this entire exchange.
  24. Traditionally the definition of a lame duck coach is one that is going into the last year of his contract without any attempt to extend him. I understand taking a bit of license of the coach in question isn't on his contract year but seems particularly disliked by management and on the verge of getting fired. But Warren seems pretty happy with Eberflus and the team seems to be on a positive trajectory. I don't particularly like eberflus, he's an enabler of the exact Bear Football style that I never wanted and that I don't care for Poles building toward. But it doesn't seem like his hold on the job is precarious enough to impact our draft decisions.
