  1. Bryant will be the greatest dong-less player in history.
  2. Was he eligible to come back yet? I guess not for two more days. It feels longer than 8 since he got sent down, but there ya go.
  3. Says a lot on what they think of Szczur.
  4. What's the latest on Edwards and Rivero? A look at their stat lines is not encouraging.
  5. What he does on his own time is his own business. He's about to make it the Pirates' business.
  6. 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 K He's had nasty stuff for awhile, but he's been walking way too many the last few years. If he can suddenly throw strikes, that's a huge addition. Lefty relief was a weakness anyway, and now we need every reliever we can get with the run of injuries. Sure, I'd rather have Chris Archer, but any bit of value from the original Garza trade is kinda cool.
  7. Kris Bryant Dong Watch continues, longest drought of his pro career.
  8. That was especially satisfying considering how hard the Cubs TV guys were laying the groundwork for his demotion.
  9. Seriously. AA is supposed to be a big challenge and he's turned it to a whole new level.
  10. Joe Maddon is brilliant and dumb. We're awesome clutch except when we can't hit with RISP. We're amazingly efficient except for our entire non-starting-roster being made of catchers and relief pitchers. We're all about young kids except David Ross is our hero. Kris Bryant is the best power-hitting prospect ever but he can't hit home runs but he's still awesome. Anyway. Fun fact: Jake Arrieta is No. 6 in MLB in fWAR for starting pitchers since the beginning of the 2014 season.
  11. Because the chances of blowing a four-run lead, despite what happened recently, are so tiny that you'd rather not blow an inning of your closer, who you made need fresh tomorrow in a one-run game.
  12. Objectively, that's probably the right move. But I can't emotionally get behind it.
  13. On a scale of 1-10, how crazy is it to wonder if Bryant's going to walk way more in the majors because AAA pitchers were more focused on their own development than optimal strategy like pitching around him?
