Each new season deserves its own negativity thread, and this one doubly so. Theo Epstein was never building for sustained success. He was building a small-market Golden Generation plan with some bad pitching acquisitions tacked on to max out the payroll. Three years of tanking, four years of good, now we're back to mediocre again. Happening to win the WS in one of those 4 playoff appearances (two of which needed the WC game) was luck. The farm system can't produce pitching, Kris Bryant's shoulder hurts, and Addison Russell abuses women. The Cubs are owned by part of the elite corporate structure propping up the fascist uprising in this country.
