Its one thing to complain how about how the cubs got to be in this position, but isn't the bad news that the payroll will not increase significantly for 4 more years? That means that the business side is way behind the baseball side, and there will not be any money to sign arms to go with our cheap, young bats.

I guess with the latest cuts, there will be a few more ABs and innings for potential 25 man guys. Who else is behind due to injury, other than Olt and Starlin?

I went to IWU. They won a title I think when i was there, or at least a final four. They had some good teams with Crabtree, who was a few years older than me. I think he played in Europe after school.

Is it safe to say he has the lowest floor out of our top 10? Uhh...no? I meant the position players in the top 10. Arent Vogelbach and Alcantara more likely MLB regulars than Soler? Maybe I'm irrationally down on him from the 3 televised ABs in the Az fall league. Bold Prediction: Our wealth of 3B prospects becomes a "problem" as Villanueava does well and a fixed Olt returns to top prospect form

The guys we just drafted, where are they playing now? I assume its in the Cubs Dominican academy- but what I really want to know is are these kids playing games in front of independent analysts that write articles I can read, like from BA or BP? -
You didn't like when he looked off our best player, turned it over, and then ran away from his man within two feet from the hoop to give up the lead? I wouldnt be shocked if we found out later that someone saw him playing volleyball somewhere when he was 17 and told him to try a new sport. Didnt that happen with Tim Duncan? Hopefully Abrams' play was bad enough that coach's eyes were opened and playing time will be given away.

This sucks but I wasnt really following it closely. With the big freshman class, and only 2 seniors, would Groce have a hard time getting everyone playing time? At least we'll have spring training and 2014 Cubs to look forward to. Oh, [expletive] ETA: whoops, only SR that plays is our best scorer. my bad. continue hating life

How healed up is Soler? He didnt look like the smooth athlete I expected. SSS and all, but I've seen 4 PAs and he swung at at least 3 breaking balls that didnt reach the plate. I'm sure he will hit some tape measure shots and he does have a plus arm, but I would expect average or worse range. He's definitely well behind the other 3 big prospects. I hope I'm wrong.

I wonder if Bryant regrets that month time he wasted before signing. The way he was mashing, did he cost himself a promotion with the lost 100 PAs? After seeing Puig, I really want to see more of Soler. Are there any vids showing his athleticism defensively or his arm? He feels like more of a mystery than the other guys.

It's almost not fair for them, we should give them an extra pick every couple years high in the draft to even things out. Will they get another pick when they dont sign Beltran this offseason?

If Soler was playing the whole season with the shin injury, then doesnt that make his stats a bit more impressive? Or does it not work like that?

Seemed that Bertrand and Abrams were better earlier in the year, than later. And not just in the very early cupcake games. Any injury or other factor to explain this? This lack of development is the only negative I would give Groce this year, with a lot of positives. Egwu still looks like a guy who started playing organized ball 3 yrs ago, but way better at the end of the season.

I would think Stevens cant turn down 6yrs/20M. Throw in bonuses for F4 and conference titles so hes not vastly underpaid if he does well. Hes young enough that if he chokes he can still catch on at a smaller school later.

Is there a good reason why round 1 games were between 4 16 seeds, 2 11 seeds, and 2 13 seeds? If I "earned" an 11 seed, I would be ticked that the 12 seeds avoided the extra game
