  1. Show me that million dollar arm cause I got a pretty good idea of that five cent head of yours.
  2. Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: I don't hit no man first. Crash Davis: All right, then... [throws him a baseball] Crash Davis: ... hit me in the chest with that. Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: I'd kill you! Crash Davis: Yeah? From what I hear, you couldn't hit water if you fell out of a [expletive] boat.
  3. Yeah...this movie is all kinds of awesome.
  4. Crash Davis: You don't want a ballplayer; you want a stable pony. Skip: Nah. Crash Davis: Well, my triple-A contract gets bought out so I can hold some flavor-of-the-month's [expletive] in the bus leagues, is that it? Well, [expletive] this [expletive] game! [pause] Crash Davis: I quit, all right? I [expletive] quit. [Crash exits the office and stands in the clubhouse for a minute before sticking his head back through the door] Crash Davis: Who we play tomorrow? Skip: Winston-Salem. Batting practice at 11:30.
  5. You can read my spoiler now.
  6. Joe Reardon: He walked 18. Larry: New league record! Joe Reardon: Struck out 18. Larry: Another new league record! In addition he hit the sportswriter, the public address announcer, the bull mascot twice... [Joe laughs] Larry: Also new league records! But, Joe, this guy's got some serious [expletive].
  7. Your shower shoes have fungus on them. You'll never make it to the bigs with fungus on your shower shoes. Think classy, you'll be classy. If you win 20 in the show, you can let the fungus grow back and the press'll think you're colorful. Until you win 20 in the show, however, it means you are a slob.
  8. Talking about Bull Durham caused me to whip out my old VHS tape so I could watch it. I really need to get this movie on DVD.
  9. I have a very important test in the morning, and I'm very tired. I left the TV on after Field of Dreams and Bull Durham is on. I don't know what deity I offended to keep this movie out of my life for the first 27 years of my life, but I am going on record and apologizing for whatever I did. Please tell me you're watching the unedited Bull Durham and not the made for TV version. Just like Major League, that's one you have to watch the real thing. Unedited. In all its glorious, wonderful beauty. "He f's like he pitches... sort of... all over the place" Wait until Crash gets asked what he believes in. And well, the movie is just full of all kinds of goodness. My favorite...in spoilers until you finish the movie.

  11. Not a "The Natural" fan? Too corny? I know a lot of people say that... but I love it. Natural comes in at number four.
  12. Well they're trying to avoid the injuries caused by players trying to break the wedge. It'll just cause teams to have to get a little more creative in kickoff return blocking.
  13. It's number three on my favorite baseball movies behind Bull Durham and Major League, but it is an awesome movie!
  14. If it was a player's first HR ball, I'd give it to them without question. I'd just want to do it in person and probably ask for a photo. I'm sure that the player would offer something in exchange and I'd accept, but there wouldn't be any "demands." I'd have taken the team signed ball without question! But the Maddux jersey would have been tempting.
  15. I don't know if this has been discussed and I missed it, but I was reading that the NFL instituted a rule change outlawing wedge blocking with more than two blockers on kick-offs. This could make for less yardage off kick-off returns in the upcoming season.
  16. I don't think I've ever finished well in this contest...so I'll enjoy first place for now.
  17. Today's win moved me to 3-0 in Cubs games attended in 2009. Too bad it's probably my last one for the year.
  18. I'd rather see if we could get the Rangers to bite on a deal that sends them Wells or Atkins instead.
  19. What if Gamel just lets a bunch of balls go by him and doesn't get charged for an error? Wouldn't that make him an outstanding fielder?
  20. I have good seats for today's game. I really hope they play it, but I don't see how. If it gets moved to Monday, I won't be here, so I could give someone a really good deal on some really nice seats.
  21. Fun game and the seats we had were [chris farley voice]awesome[/chris farley voice]
  22. Fred and I have seats on row a dugout box 26 for todays game. We are about 6 ft away from the Padres' on deck circle. Does the phrase give 'em hell mean anything?
  23. When I get back home, I'll personally start the campaign to get Theriot in the game. With that power bat he has, he must be deserving!
