    It's a great deal, really. We can argue about whether it's a little long or whatever, but nothing less would have gotten it done. It was going to take a deal like this to keep him around, and I'm glad that we are keeping him around.

    I'd take Ramirez because I believe he's better with the bat than Rolen and has his best years ahead of him, while I believe Rolen's best years are behind him.

    I don't hate Dusty. He's a very likeable guy. Unfortunately, I disagree with his moves often. That being said, he's made all the right moves thus far. I hope he continues to do so.

    As has been mentioned, Dopirak will be traded sooner if not later. He doesn't have a future in this organization any longer. He can only play first, his options will run out before Lee's deal is up, and he's not versatile enough for a bench role. I'm not saying he'll be moved this season, but I'd be really surprised if he's in the organization one year from now.

    No lot, but it's a lot easier to find parking, and it's like a 4 minute train ride straight to the stadium. Don't be confused though, parking still isn't guaranteed. You'll probably have to drive around the block once or twice if you're getting there late. I lived on Fullerton right by the el for five years, so I know the best places to look for spots when I go. That's why I always park there. And Vance, you're probably better off walking, or just spending the two bucks on a cab. You're really not very far at all, so I say just take the walk. Thanks. I'll be driving in from the St. Louis area. Any hints on how to get to the hotel?

    While people are asking about Chicago, I'm staying at the Days Inn Lincoln Park in June when I come. Is there an L station nearby or should I just walk to the park?

    It's a good deal at 13 million per for an additional four years. Lee gets a nice 3 million raise this year in exchange for saving the Cubs 1-2 million per for the life of the contract. Lee also has a complete no-trade clause. That no-trade clause may have been one of the things hanging things up for a few days. I'm happy!

    Sweet pic Vance, but what are you like 5 foot tall. Lol I'm 5'8"...thank you!!! Where did you get that pic? In Houston? Do you go hunting the hotel for autos? That pic is in Houston, but it's right outside MMP at the entrance many of the players use.

    BTW, some of the comments and posts this morning at Cards Talk are comical. We got lucky according to this poster. I also think it's funny that he sees the Cardinals as a 100 win team.

    One of my friends who teaches down the hall is a Cardinals fan. He arrived at his room this morning to find a picture of Dusty with the Sweeper taped to this door. I've sent students to his room all morning with brooms asking if he needs anything swept.
