    I did meet a girl named Dusty once...oh another story for another day. (I always thought it was such a strange name for a girl. The places people get their names for their children is beyond me. :) )

    He was throwing it towards Long Beach/the Pacific Ocean (due south). The wind must have done some nice tricks to make it go east. It looked East on my TV screen!

    Depending on the deal he signed with the Yankees, he may be able to get out of it if another team has interest. If Lee is out for an extended time, there probably are some options out there if the Cubs decide to pursue them.

    Which boards? If you're fishing for ammo, you're bound to find some if you look hard enough. It wasn't hard to find. Last night, front page of Cards Talk was as far as I had to go. I'm sure they sounded a lot like the posts here demanding that Z put a fastball in Furcal's ear the next time they play. People say stupid things. On forums they say stupid things with little to no recourse. I'm going to leave this thread because it's silly. Heck, just yesterday, one or two fans on THIS forum suggested that someone should hit Pujols in the head, because he threw his bat after a home run. I don't think that the "best fans" label is based on message board banter. I think that when the MLB players voted for the St. Louis fans as the "best", it had more to do with what they witnessed at the stadiums. I wonder if they'd want to re-vote based on recent behavior at Busch. The Cards fans are not the best fans. Trying to place that label on anyone is homeristic at best and idiotic at the worst.

    Vance, you know as well as I do that fireworks would go off over here from some posters if the same thing happened to Pujols. As a matter of fact I recall a few people saying Choi's best hit for the Cubs was when he destroyed Rolen's shoulder last year as a Dodger. Comments like that are going to be on EVERY forum. I hate what happened to Lee. I hope he comes back by tomorrow's game. You're right. I'm not saying it makes them worse than any fan, but I definitely think it dispels the myth of best fans.

    My flight leaves tomorrow at 5:55 AM for St. Louis. 9I have a two-hour stop in Houston along the way.) I'll arrive at my in-laws around 11:30 and get ready to head to the game. I'll be at all three of these, so I hope the Cubs can find a way to keep winning. Williams had a decent start against the Cardinals in St. Louis last year, so let's hope he can do it again. I'm going to have fun shouting at Ponson on Saturday from the Party Room.
