  1. I was watching that game from the hospital delivery room. At 12:12 AM on May 20th, Addison Grace Nickelson was born. I remember it well. My wife had just received her epidural and told me she didn't care what I did.
  2. If Bruce keeps this up, he might become public enemy number one in the clubhouse. Keep it up Bruce. This team needs a critical eye placed upon its mistakes.
  3. If you ever end up with an ex-wife you may have a deeper understanding of that.
  4. I agree on Kottaras, but he's not worth Aramis. I'd offer them Maddux and others for Kottaras. Kottaras has great numbers so far, eh? I also noticed that, in the Padres' AAA Portland team, they have Manny Alexander, remember him? And Bobby Hill! Kottaras' line at AA: 276/394/451. That's not too bad for a catcher.
  5. Around the Joe Horn selects Duece McAllister, RB NO Saints.
  6. I agree on Kottaras, but he's not worth Aramis. I'd offer them Maddux and others for Kottaras.
  7. You're probably right, but something tells me the guy who is going to get his playing time reduced with these deals is Morgan Ensberg. Was it Vance or someone else, who recently had a link showing that Tim Purpura dislikes Morgan Ensberg as much as Pat Gillick dislikes Pat Burrell? I don't remember where I saw that exactly, but I recall reading that Purpura and Ensberg were on the outs. My source who I haven't spoked with in awhile and I think he's moved from Houston was under the impression that Jimy Williams didn't like Ensberg. I don't recall him ever sharing Purpura's feelings in regard to Morgan. And it appears since Gardner has been in control, Ensberg has done better and received more regular playing time.
  8. I'm going with REM here.
  9. I don't trust the score. They are anti-Cubs bigots. They're worse if you live in Chicago. I would never trade with the Score unless I could fleece them. :lmao:
  10. I'd be for Burrell if the cost in talent wasn't much. The Phillies will need a 3b when Bell leaves via free agency. How about Moore and Wells for Burrell?
  11. While I'm not opposed to moving Aramis, the Padres have no one in the minor league system that would be worth Aramis and I doubt they would trade anyone in the major league team that would make the deal worthwhile either.
  12. If the cost was cheap enough, I'd take a flyer on him. With the acquisition of Huff, he won't see the Houston line-up again until September.
  13. Why argue about second best? That seems a bit pointless.
  14. Skynard with a narrow two vote lead.
  15. Loretta a FA? I'm on board there. Not really a fan of Loretta, and I hope the Cubs stay away from adding any big name 2nd basemens, like Giles/Loretta. I want 2nd base open for Eric Patterson. While Patterson may be a decent major league second baseman, I don't think he's the level of prospect that you keep a spot open for. He's not going to be ready for the show in 2007 and we'll need someone to play second unless we want to endure 500 AB of Neifi. I don't. If I can get Marcus Giles to play second, Patterson can ply his trade elsewhere.
  16. I'm just amazed that Z didn't break Cora over his knee like the little piece of crap that he is!
  17. My avatar trumps all. (At least until I change it again.)
  18. No, Wood hurt his shoulder on purpose so he could bilk the Cubs out of money. Wood never wanted to pitch. You should know that by now.
  19. Link. Interesting....
  20. I've never really hated the White Sox until now. I hope someone drills Joey Cora and he dies.
  21. there are no indications management values him enough to do so. I agree. I count Walker as pretty much gone. But, just because he'd look nice here in 2007 is no reason not to trade him. That was the point I was trying to make. When a team is 20 games under .500, any and all players not under contract for the next season should be up for trade. A team can always bid for their services again in the fall.
  22. We could feasably trade him and then re-sign him in the offseason since he's a FA. Didn't Pittsburgh do that with Mike Williams a few years back. I think they traded him somewhere in his walk year and then re-signed him.
  23. Meh...I've seen better.
