  1. I can refresh and it goes away, but I get it almost everytime I click a new topic.
  2. Grace at times can be entertaining, but he's not that good of a commentator. I think he'd be a worse manager. Grace doesn't want to pay his dues either. He wants to broadcast or manage and has little interest in being a minor league manager to work his way up. I'd pass on Grace in any capacity.
  3. Am I the only one who doesn't care if Stone comes back?
  4. When McNab scored the last TD, my wife got angry when I woke her up by screaming multiple profanities at the the television.
  5. Wouldn't it be a shocker if Hendry steps down today as well?
  6. Quite possible Vance. I do think that Hendry might find out why they had problems though as he should do if he truely wants to find the best person for the job. Hendry will be in full CYA mode this offseason. He has to can his handpicked manager. His mentor and boss is running for the hills. It's easy to realize that your head can be on the chopping block when your watching the two nearest you rolling down the corridor. Hendry will do everything possible to save his job this offseason. I fear this because I'm not sure he's capable of understanding what needs to be done. My guess is Piniella will be the next manager and it scares the bejeebus out of me.
  7. I think some of my students would like to carry such a sign about me. Of course, I might respond my wearing a st-shirt that said "Fail _____" with his/her name in the blank.
  8. I think Hendry will stay clear of Girardi. Girardi is known to not only have conflicted with Loria but with Dombrowski as well. Hendry will know Girardi would be popular and if he got into a power struggle with him, then Girardi's popularity would likely make him the winner in the long run. Hendry will avoid that issue by not pursuing Girardi.
  9. SHOCKING! But you'd think seniors in high school, who I know are nowhere near as busy as I in many respects, could find the time to type up a three page paper, considering they already had it written. Whatever, I enjoy the free lab-time. EDIT: Irony- complaining about people not finishing a writing assignment properly, in a post filled with errors. I taught seniors my first year. I feel confident saying that they made more excuses in that one year about not completing papers and assignments than all my middle schoolers have in the past five years.
  10. No way. Oregon, while not officially, is already a one-loss team in my book. If anyone deserves a bump up with a win this week it is LSU. They will have beat the #5 team, and their loss was barley losing to #2. First, I agree that LSU/Florida is the best game this week although Cal/Oregon could be the most entertaining game of the week. Sayy what you want about Oregon having/not having a loss and Cal getting blown out by Tennessee but Cal has dropped 40+ on four straight opponents and Oregon has put up 30+ in all four games this year. You want a tough defensive game, watch LSU/Florida. You want an offensive shootout, watch Oregon/Cal. Second, I wouldn't bump LSU up at all if they beat Florida other than the spot they would move up with Florida dropping assuming nobody else ahead of them loses of course. If Oregon goes to Berkeley and beats Cal, they should move up a couple spots. I think Georgia will lose to Tennessee which would drop them. Either LSU or Florida is going to lose and Oregon would jump in front of them. If LSU beat Florida, I would put Oregon above LSU. They wouldn't be top 5 though. But I think this will be a moot point as I see Cal taking to Oregon. If Oregon wins and LSU wins, I'd still have LSU ahead. LSU would have one loss to Auburn and Oregon would have one loss to Oklahoma.
  11. Students not finishing an assignment on time? Unheard of!
  12. I'm just frightened that the parting of ways will be followed by an announcement that Lou Piniella has been hired as manager.
  13. Seriously! Or told FitzSimons, "Yo, bossman, I'm jettin on this disaster," so that we could have found a legit replacement, instead of the tool from marketing. I imagine he did tell him that...and this was what Fitzimmons came up with. Oh the Competence!! Mark Cuban, save us! Mark Cuban knows [deleted] about baseball, he's a joke and if he decides to get involved in baseball, dont let it be the Cubs, because he'll take them straight to baseball hell, plus he wont be able to run out on the field with that bad body he's got! And you might want to watch the language. Cuban would be a great owner. He would make sure he put the right people in place and take care of his players. He took the Mavs from loser to the NBA Finals. I think he would be a breath of fresh air. BTW, when did Cuban run over your dog?
  14. VANCE PLEASE STAT TRACK MY GAME You're up by 21.
  15. No way. Oregon, while not officially, is already a one-loss team in my book.
  16. According to stat tracker, I'm up by 28 right now. Thnx Maroney and Dillon!
  17. Barring Stallworth getting 30 pts on Monday night, you should have a win.
  18. Yes and yes, they did have dinner together. I don't see Stone becoming the GM. I've been wrong before. I would like to see bridges mended between Stone & the Cubs, which should be easier if Dusty is no longer in the picture. There have been a lot of rumors about whether Ron Santo will continue on as a full-time radio broadcaster --- specifically, how much longer he'll do the road games, since he did miss a couple of road series this season. I like Santo in the booth and hope he continues on. If he chooses to cut back his schedule for health reasons, I'd prefer Stone in the booth as a PT replacement over Otto. The Return of Joe Carter, baby!
  19. I went with Pro sports. MLB is my favorite, and the college game doesn't even compare. The NFL and college football are both close, but I give the nod to the NFL. College basketball is better than the NBA, but I don't watch enough of either for it to matter to me.
  20. Maroney trying to rush my team to a victory.
