  1. No word here either... I'd imagine they have sent the emails by now. :( Me either.
  2. Has anyone gotten an email today about bleacher box, dugout box, or bullpen box seats yet? I think those were supposed to go out today, but so far no luck on my part.
  3. Yeah, I'm not quite comfortable that Pie can handle the load. Pie would be a great deal better defensively than what we have. I'm fairly certain of that. But, I'm not sure his bat is ready. If I felt Pie could match what Jones would bring with the bat, I'd be more than happy with an OF of Murton/Floyd in LF, Pie in CF, and Soriano in RF. But regardless of his decent spring, I still think Pie has a lot to learn. How much would sitting the bench stunt his growth? He would be a great defensive replacement and I'd rather have him than Pagan if I knew his growth wouldn't be stunted. I also think Lou prefers keeping Pie to Pagan, but knows that he likely won't be allowed to make that decision. Hence, the quotes about some of those calls being out of his hands.
  4. So, Bears fans...what do you see as the likely resolution with Briggs?
  5. Good choice. You won't be dissapointed. Well, I'm getting a free DVR, free HBO/Skinemax for 3 months, and $10 off a month for 10 months. The switch is just going to be weird because I am so used to the channels on Dish Network. Oh well. Wow, they're giving away free DVRs now? I feel left out  Yeah. I sure as hell didn't get that much when I first signed up. :
  6. I'm wanting to keep Jones unless he's involved in a deal that brings something useful back. Since I don't see that happening, I'd rather see if Soriano or Jones can handle CF and wait a bit longer on Pie.
  7. I guess that's why we never heard anything about him.
  8. He's a special teams stud, but is one dimensional as a player. He's good against the run, but he can't cover, and he can't rush the passer either. He's a good backup ILB/special teamer, but that's about it. That's pretty much it. Fowler is a beast on special teams. We're going to miss him there. He's only useful on rushing downs. He's horrible on passing downs. His special teams performance may be missed somewhat, but I think that a rookie could easily step up in his place. With Phillips' as the head coach, there will be an emphasis put on getting to the QB and that's just something that Fowler couldn't do. I wouldn't mind picking up another pass-rushing OLB in the draft this year (maybe someone like Robison or Bazuin) and moving Carpenter inside. I wasn't overly impressed by James this year and I think Carpenter can take his spot next to Ayodele. We can always pick up someone like Ameer Ismail or Martin Jackson either late in the draft or as a UDFA to take Fowler's spot. I guess this is where we disagree. I thought Carpenter was a little better when he was moved outside. He didn't play inside all that well in my mind. I think James is fine. He's not a pro-bowler, but he does a decent job for what he was asked to do in that scheme. I think Phillips's attacking style will help the entire defense next season.
  9. Link. It appears there may be a match to trade Jones to San Diego. And Soriano will get some looks in RF this week as Jones gets some looks in CF.
  10. Link. This is good to hear. I never liked skipping a starter. Maybe this will save some wear and tear on Zambrano in the early months.
  11. That pretty much covers my childhood. Some of us have to go back farther than others. Now if Fred shows up, he'll probably name Orval Overall from the 1910 team.
  12. If you go back a couple of decades, you'll find Steve Swisher.
  13. Going back to 1984, I found Rick Reuschel.
  14. Also, can we count Goose Gossage?
  15. And I'm guessing there's no love for Rolando Roomes.
  16. How could I forget Doug Dascenzo? :d'oh:
  17. I had to travel to 1989 to find Scott Sanderson and Pat Perry.
  18. Mike Morgan takes the mound.
  19. Scott Servais to handle duties behind the dish.
