  1. This is the toughest part for him I'm sure. It appears he still hasn't gotten over the effects and that might be what has been affecting his play.
  2. The Trib seems to think Miller is the front-runner here. Link.
  3. Link. While it still seems like speculation to me, here's the higlights.
  4. The Rockies are going with Tulowitzski at SS. That leaves Matsui, Carroll, and Barmes. One of those might be available. Also, in Tampa the last utility spot is down to Upton or Harris. If it's Upton, Harris could be placed on waivers. Those are a couple of possibilities. Also, Rey Rnez could get let go by Seattle.
  5. I could see a deal with the Rockies for one of Carroll, Barmes, or Matsui.
  6. I think a trade could bring that last middle infielder. The Cubs also will be watching the waiver wire closely.
  7. You're down for that one. Ok, everyone. Hurry and choose your date before they are all gone.
  8. Oswalt signed a 5/73 deal which could be 6/87 if his option is picked up rather than his buy-out of 2 million. Oswalt's deal paid him 13, 13, 14, 15, 16 with a sixth-year 16 million option with a 2 million buyout. That's the framework I'd begin with. I think a deal in which Zambrano has his 12.4 million salary for this year augmented by a 2 million dollar signing bonus. He'd then make 13.5 million next season, 14.5 million in 2009, 16 million in 2010, 18 million in 2011. I'd include an option for 2012 at 20 million with a 2 million buyout. The contract would be 5 years at a guaranteed 78.4 million. It beats Oswalt's deal and has the potential to be a 6 year 96.4 million dollar contract. I think that would be fair. It might could be massaged a little if the numbers aren't right to end up being a 5/80 guaranteed with a possibility to be 6/100.
  9. Just got my rejection notice.
  10. The bullpen box are only down the rightfield line. For the dugout, you don't have a choice. It just pulls it up for you.
  11. Nice, so did I! This is the first year that I've been selected... is it going to be a virtual waiting room just like when regular tickets went on sale? Also, it says I can buy at 9:00 AM Thursday morning... is that when it opens up for everyone, or are there different times? It seems like people had different times, but I could be wrong. Yeah, 9:00 AM is the first slot. You'll have your pick of some good seats. Any suggestion as to bullpen vs. dugout box seats? Depends on what you want to pay and where you like to sit. I like the dugout box, but you can save some cash going bullpen. Of course, you could always use your slot to buy bleacher box for one of the Sox games and use the opportunity to make a buck. What game were you looking at buying?

  13. Gameday took it back, Daryle Ward got a walk instead. Yeah I saw that. Gameday has gone crazy on me.
  14. We could trade Miller and a reliever for a middle infielder. How about seeing what San Diego would want to return Todd Walker to Chicago?
  15. Still no email. Has anyone else recieved one?
  16. so does coats make the 25 man along with cherry? if so, does what do they do with pagan? I still think it's a long shot for either Coats or Cherry to make the team.
  17. Need something to do for 4th of July Weekend while the Cubs are on the road? How about taking in a Police concert at Wrigley Field? Link. It looks like the Cubs will have to move a game currently scheduled for night to an afternoon start as part of the deal.
  18. From the Trib: Link. Let's hope a deal gets done soon. I'd start with a 5-year proposal similar to what Oswalt got and go from there.
  19. No, I just like getting email. The dugout seats are truly amazing. I'm trying to get a pair for one of the regular games that I'd be attending.
