  1. Well, then it does appear Soto will get his chance. One of Bowen or Hill is likely gone. On another transaction note, will we make a move to get to 12-pitchers like Lou has indicated we would?
  2. I'm waiting to see how many times he refers to himself in the third person during the press conference.
  3. Man, I thought today would be the day to catch up on my napping.
  4. i'd need a clean pair of shorts if we acquired dunn....i'd also order my new dunn jersey that day. +1
  5. cheaper in talent or $$? According to Gammons it seems like both. The only issue is that Dunn would be a rental. I'd still take Dunn.
  6. That's not a bad line at all. Hopefully he's coming around. I will be more than ecstatic if I'm wrong and he makes it to big club as a starter. I still wish he'd start striking some people out.
  7. I'd hope for Dunn over Griffey, especially if he's really going to be cheaper to acquire.
  8. Gammons says Griffey believes he will be traded....also adds that Dunn's value isn't as high as it should be. Link.
  9. Did anyone hear the radio interview with Marlins president David Sampson when he was asked about the deal? He at first said he couldn't believe it. And then said if it were true that baseball was about to return to the ridiculous contracts that got clubs in trouble. He had a hard time believing that the 20 million figure was accurate.
  10. If I'm taking Griffey's salary, I'd want the Reds to take back one of Jones, Izturis, or Eyre to help offset that. I don't like it, but if we trade for Griffey and plan on having Griffey, Pie, and Soriano from right to left, then Murton ought to be added to the deal. I'd try to get him for something less than including Marshall or Hill with Murton. If Griffey is only willing to go to Atlanta or Chicago, then the Reds options are limited. I'm not sure what kind of package I'd make. It would contain Murton and I'd throw a minor league arm in there. On the other hand, I'd be cautious. One only has to beat the Braves offer, and I don't see JS taking on that much of Griffey's contract unless he comes cheap in terms of prospects. Salty, Reyes, or Escobar isn't likely to be part of a deal for KGJ.
  11. Griffey wants to play close to home in Orlando. Furthermore, Atlanta holds ST in Orlando, so if he were a Brave he'd get another 6 weeks at home before the season. I'm guessing the Cubs has something to do with Lou since Chicago is no where near Orlando.
  12. I don't see Arod as a villian. He's just a very good baseball player.
  13. Link. The Indians and Travis Hafner have reached agreement on a 4/57 extension.
  14. It would be so awesome if the Cubs brought Sammy back.
  15. So, if it's the offseason and we have the choice of spending 7/120 on Zambrano or 6/120 on Arod, which do you choose? I take Arod, plz.
  16. According to TLR, they had the right guy up in that situation.
  17. Pujols was there. They just showed his quote on BBTN. Pujols said he was ready to go in.
  18. Well if this issue causes problems in the Cardinals clubhouse, that could be a good thing.
  19. Agreed. I can understand (though not agree) with not using Pujols for Hudson. Once the bases were loaded, there's no excuse.
  20. Either TLR didn't want to win or he's a horrible manager. There's no middle ground.
  21. Rowand's career numbers: 283/341/450 Pujols' career numbers: 330/418/619 I think you have to go with Pujols there.
  22. I won't go as far to say TLR threw the game, but it is interesting that he had 2 opportunities to use Albert in game winning situations in the ninth, first for Hudson and then for Rowand, and did not. Something is definitely fishy.
