    I would consider Patterson because of the depth we have at second; there's no way I'd deal Veal for Dye. Dye's numbers indicate last year was a fluke. While he's not as bad as he's played, I'm not sure offensively that he's an upgrade over Floyd. I think if given the chance, Murton could be just as productive as Dye. Unless he's cheap, Dye should not be acquired. Paying a price as high as Veal would be dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.

    Donaldson doesn't surprise me since he's played college ball in what is realistically AA.

    Arod...easily. Play him at short, play him in RF. It doesn't matter. Arod's value dwarfs Ichiro and I don't even think it is close.

    Unless there's a major shakeup and possibly a trade, I would think that move would wait. They were willing to push their luck for a good 3 weeks talking about the so-called need for 12 pitchers. Now that the entire bullpen is completely rested, I would think they'd be willing to wait another week or two. Well, Dempster is due back from the DL sometime during the San Fran series next Monday-Wednesday, so I'm fairly certain that's as long as they would wait, but I guess we'll see.
