  1. Bob is quite critical of Soriano at the plate.
  2. It would be nice if Soriano showed just an ounce of patience.
  3. And the Bulldogs punch it in.
  4. Miss State threatening to score.
  5. Bruce, What's your take on this? Are Selig and the boys trying to ram Canning down the Trib's throat? Is there a lot more to this than what's being reported? I sure would like RedIvyCub to make an appearance. She seems to have a handle of some of the inner workings of these things. I'm not privy to a lot of this stuff, being with the team every day and all. MLB will have its preferences, but how hard they're pushing for one group or another, I don't know. Thanks for the input. Will you have a greater knowledge of things once the season ends?
  6. Auburn is a bad football team this year.
  7. Back on August 19th, I made a thread where I predicted how each team would fare against the remaining teams. My projections had the Cubs finishing 84-78, the Brewers finishing 82-80, and the Cardinals finishing 81-81. While not every series has gone as I thought, overall I've been fairly close. The Cubs as far as wins and losses are right even with my projections, the Brewers are one game behind my projections, and the Cardinals are three games behind my projections. I'm sticking with what I've said and have the Cubs winning the division with an 84-78 record. Assuming a loss in the first game today, the Cubs would have to go 8-6. It's going to be close, but I still like the Cubs' chances.
  8. Base hit for Soriano. It would be nice to string a few together here.
  9. How the hell are we looking this bad against Braden Soap Dropper Looper.

  11. Tha's what I'm concerned about. I mean, if I'm the seller of the Chicago Cubs (I wouldn't even sell them if I personally own them of course) I would expect top dollar for it. Nothing less. Well, it may not be that they're not getting top dollar, but that Canning is significantly lower than many other bids. Canning might be counting on his Selig ties to get the deal done. Imagine if Canning offered a bid of 680 million, while there were three bids at 800, 850, and 1 billion. That would be a significant difference.
  12. I'm not sure who I want to lose most in that game. And the proper derogatory nickname for the Redskins is the foreskins.
  13. How the hell has Braden Looper lasted a whole year in the Cardinals' rotation?
  14. I think what is implied while not actually written is that Selig really wants the Canning group to be the owners and is pushing strongly for that. At the same time, the Canning group may not be offering what the Trib wants for the Cubs.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised to see Howry get the save opportunities for the remainder of the season.
  16. And Mench flies out. Game over. Reds win!
  17. Damn...a single by Hardy and then a homer by Rivera and it's now 6-5 with 2 out in the ninth.
  18. 2 outs in the ninth for the Brewers. One more out and the Reds win.
  19. That win pretty much eliminates the Cardinals from the race.
