Why would Canning accept a counter of just the Cubs if he bid $650 mil. for the club and the park? I don't see that happening. And if the difference in offers is as large as $350 mil., the Trib and the Trustee are asking for a lawsuit (brought by the employees and/or the Department of Labor). Well, if Canning doesn't accept the counter he basically removes himself from the running. Selig then would no longer have a crony among the bidders.

I guess one response of the Tribune would be to agree to sell the Cubs to Canning but sell Wrigley Field to another entity or hold on to Wrigley as well. If Canning offered 650 million and another buyer offered closer to 1 billion. The Cubs could tell Canning that his bid was only sufficient to buy the Cubs but not the Cubs and Wrigley. I don't think there's anything that gives MLB power to say who owns Wrigley Field.

Florida's potent offense vs LSU's smothering defense is going to fun. And my guess is we'll see that match-up twice: once in Death Valley and then again in the SEC championship game.

May be too little too late, but that was a really nice drive we just put together. Ainge is looking really good today. Can't say a much for the offensive line's run blocking ability, though. Or the defense's ability to play football. Of course, more than anything Tennessee does or doesn't do, Florida is just a phenomenal team.

Florida is dominating Tennessee now. I'm really looking forward to LSU vs Florida. That's going to be one hell of a game to watch.

Michigan intercepts Clausen. This game is going to get ugly. I thought Michigan was bad, but Notre Dame is inept.
