  1. I wonder if Murton would get called up if Patterson is late to the ballpark today.
  2. If Bonds could be fit into the budget, I'd have no qualms about signing him. He would still need his rest and days off, but there's no questioning his ability when he does play. Last season, he had a 480 OBP to go along with his 565 SLG. Even if we only played him every other day, I think the difference in the line-up would be huge! Imagine this line-up-- RF Fukudome 2b DeRosa 1b Lee 3b Ramirez LF Bonds C Soto SS Theriot CF Pie I think that line-up would score 5-6 runs a game.
  3. I'm guessing they think Patterson can lead-off and since this team mistakenly thinks lead-off is a position, they wanted Patterson.
  4. If Soriano is out for the year, that means I can start up a trade for Dunn thread by mid summer.
  5. It's moves like this that piss me off concerning the Cubs.
  6. If so, I have a rather unusual request. Last night, I sat in my living room watching the game when they showed the promo for the giveaway of the Cubs Dora doll to the first 7K children age 7 and younger. Well, my 3 (almost 4 year old)year-old daughter loves Dora and exclaimed, "Daddy, I want a Cubs Dora!" So, if anyone is going to the game and ends up with one they don't want or need, and would like to sell or barter it away, I'd appreciate it. If not, no worries, but I felt it couldn't hurt to ask.
  7. I think it's ridiculous to assume a player will come up and hit off the bat and if he doesn't, then he should be sent back down. Pie has had 26 AB. In total for his major league career, he's had 97 AB and put up a dismal 207 /260/310 line. In comparison, Kenny Lofton when he was a year older than Pie came up for 74 AB and put up a 203/253/216 line even worse than Pie. There are other players that have similar starts to their careers. It's just that by the time those players become all-stars their early struggles are forgotten.
  8. If Soriano ends up being day to day, I think we'll see just what we saw tonight. DeRosa in LF and Fontenot at 2b. If Soriano goes on the DL, I think Murton will be called up and thrown into the mix. I don't think a trade or anything will happen unless it's a whole lot more serious than it looked to be.
  9. What's the over/under on how many red bull & coffee Zambrano has before the game?
  10. My feeling is as long as the rest of the team is hitting and the team is winning, he plays strong enough defense to ride him out a little longer. But there may come a time where we need to get offense from that spot, and if he hasn't figured it out by then, it may be time to sit him.
  11. The more Reed hits, the more likely Pie sits.
  12. No matter how many relievers the Reds accumulate, the results are always the same.
  13. Nice play by Fontenot. Can we get a GIDP from Griffey so we can escape with the lead?
  14. I have a feeling the Reds score 4 this inning.
  15. I think when Dusty was manager I would have been warmer to the DH just so I wouldn't have to see all those double switches.
