Here's my issue on a Stanton trade. A lot of what we may have to and even should give up depends on the Marlins stance. If the Marlins are going to trade him, then we only need to beat what they can get from another team. In this case, I think we may be able to get him without giving up one of Bryant, Russell, or Baez. If the Marlins are willing to keep him and will only trade him if blown away, then we will almost certainly have to give up one of those three. In BA's midseason list, Bryant was #2, Russell #5, and Baez #7. That would mean the only teams who could beat the centerpiece of one of those three would be Twins (Buxton #1), Astros (Correa #3), Rangers (Gallo #4) and Indians (Lindor#6) Of those teams, I am worried most about the Rangers. They seem less concerned about holding on to prospects and could even include a player like Odor to entice the Marlins. I think we could build a package around Alcantara and hold on to Bryant, Baez, and Russell.
