  1. Maddon=Championship
  2. Another of my nephews plays for ULM. 8 catches for 88 yards today and an 8 yard pass. Who is that? I got my masters from there and live in Monroe. I have only made it out to one game so far this year.
  3. That's gonna make Sandberg thrilled.
  4. Demarco Murray has more yards on first downs than the next best running back has on the season. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/10/14/6976373/demarco-murray-cowboys-rushing-stats-wowowow http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/ye_E4GsIiEGDrhAclEkRxPAElHU=/800x0/filters:no_upscale()/cdn1.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/2353430/rushers2014-2.0.png
  5. Cowboys are planning to fine Randall between 10k-30k. That's gonna end up being one expensive pack of drawes!.

  7. Dallas Cowboys are for real!
  8. That was the most fun I've had at a football game in a long time!
  9. Marshall has withdrawn from LSU. Could there be an impending agreement which lets him sign with the Astros? http://www.tigerrag.com/baseball/freshman-pitcher-mac-marshall-withdraws-for-university-leaves-baseball-program
  10. I think his past behavior shows he lacks a little in the intelligence department.
  11. I will admit that I think a parent should have a right to use corporal punishment if they see fit. I had my share of whoopings as a child. I can count on one hand the times I've spanked mine, and I have always been careful. When I first heard about this, I was hoping it was an over-reaction to Peterson disciplining his child in a way that maybe some just don't agree with...but when I saw the pictures on Deadspin, I got sick to my stomach. I have worked in child care. If a child ever came to me with those injuries, I would have called protective services in a heartbeat.
  12. So, is what I'm gathering is Peterson went all day on his son's ass?
  13. I love Stanton and would like to get him. I could be ok with a package that includes one of Russell, Soler, or Baez. There's no way I'm including two of that group in a package. The Marlins won't be able to get 2 players of that quality from anyone else simply because I can't think of too many systems that have 2 players of that caliber to offer. I'd play chicken with them if that's what they are asking. If they are motivated to trade, they will take the best offer and an offer of one of those plus some combination of Almora, Torrez, Jiminez, Vogleback, and McKinney (Not all of that, just 2 of those names) will be better than anyone else can offer.
  14. Here's my issue on a Stanton trade. A lot of what we may have to and even should give up depends on the Marlins stance. If the Marlins are going to trade him, then we only need to beat what they can get from another team. In this case, I think we may be able to get him without giving up one of Bryant, Russell, or Baez. If the Marlins are willing to keep him and will only trade him if blown away, then we will almost certainly have to give up one of those three. In BA's midseason list, Bryant was #2, Russell #5, and Baez #7. That would mean the only teams who could beat the centerpiece of one of those three would be Twins (Buxton #1), Astros (Correa #3), Rangers (Gallo #4) and Indians (Lindor#6) Of those teams, I am worried most about the Rangers. They seem less concerned about holding on to prospects and could even include a player like Odor to entice the Marlins. I think we could build a package around Alcantara and hold on to Bryant, Baez, and Russell.
  15. I know they aren't as close to MLB ready- but could we build a package for Stanton using Gleybar Torres and Eloy Jiminez?

  17. I may be completely off here, but I think they will be shopping, but only for players they really like. I think we go into 2015 as a year to find out what we really have and may not purchase players that could block some of our better players on the farm. I think that means Rizzo-1b, Baez-2b, Castro-SS, Bryant-3b, Soler-RF, Alcantara- CF. That only leaves openings at catcher and left. If Russell forces his way up next year, an infielder will have to move to left. Also, I think they will stick with Castillo at catcher until they know for a fact Schwarber can handle it or not. If not, he will need a spot in the OF. Now, some of these guys may not be ready until 2016 or so, but my guess is we won't sign or acquire a long-term contract on a bat unless it is a no brainer like Stanton or a really good value. If we spend money this offseason it will be stopgap guys or pitching. I may be wrong, but that's my take.
  18. I absolutely loved those jerseys...though I liked the gray road ones better than the blue.
  19. I hold out hope that Mike Olt can find a way to live a productive life despite his eye-sight disability.
  20. Maybe Edwin is just a [expletive] that doesn't listen to Bosio. He could be the opposite of the intellectual Hendricks and is the idiot of pitching.
  21. Oh man...if Baez hits one out here, I will need a new pair of pants.
  22. I will have to say that this may be the most inconsistent strike zone I have seen called in a long time.
