Why not? Ranks second in career SLG% as a Cub, 4th in runs created, 3rd in adjusted batting runs, 3rd in batting wins, 3rd in extra base hits. Sosa is one of only six players with 600 career homeruns. Sosa is a no doubter as one of the top three Cubs of all-time, despite your emotional feelings for the player.

I'd rather keep Wood than go after Rodriguez. KRod is good, but I hate to pay a premium for closers, especially when that premium is going to be as much as Rodriguez will get. -

I don't think we'll re-sign Dempster and add another SP. It's possible, but I don't see payroll going up that much. I think if we win it all, they will make all efforts to keep the core of the team together for a repeat run. If a splash is made, Sabathia or Sheets both could be the one. -

I'm starting to think payroll is not going to be a problem next season. If someone is willing to pay over a billion dollars for the team, I doubt they risk that investment by cutting payroll.
