  1. I think this is most likely. In all seriousness, as previously stated, Marshall has something to prove and I think he will. If his bender is under control like I think it will. I'll say 7 innings with 1-3 runs. Marmol and Wood to follow. Cubs win 8-3. Marshall will be on a 5 inning/80 pitch limit, so I really doubt you'll be right. Couldn't we throw someone out there with a longer leash? Isn't this Dempster's scheduled day to start anyway? If that's the case and what you said is true, Piniella isn't making much sense. Dempster isn't starting because he's tending to personal business. Shark would be on a similar pitch count, so no, unless we made a roster move and brought up someone from AAA, anyone we would use would have a limited PC.
  2. Let's Go Dodgers. =D> =D> =D> Let's Go Dodgers!
  3. Holy crap that was an exciting game. Whoddathunk...Daryle Ward!
  4. Rolling into Atlanta and leaving it in ashes like we were Sherman was fun. Now it's time to go into Miami and beat the out of those !
  5. Sac fly on a diving catch by Nix, 2-1 Padres. Runner on 2nd, one out.
  6. Passed ball lets Iguchi get to second. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, still none out.
  7. Iguchi ties it. Runners at the corners, still none out.
  8. Padres have runners on 2nd and 3rd with none out.
  9. I had questions answered twice when John Sickels used to be at ESPN. Nothing since.
  10. Where I see a problem is MLB's rules about debt and how long-term contracts count toward that. If a prospective owner is forced to go this route, MLB rules could hamper the Cubs ability to sign long term contracts with if a team has to have this much debt on the books.
  11. Glavine wasn't too sharp in his last rehab start, so let's beat these up!
  12. Maybe Ohman can bounce a few 50 ft curve balls.
  13. I'd be perfectly happy for a DFA of Ward and a signing of Bonds... :D
  14. This thread is evidence of the depth of this team. There isn't a clear cut MVP. This team isn't winning because it has one or two superstars; they win because up and down the line-up, everyone is solid and the pitching rotation is very good as well.
