  1. I might switch over to this one in breaks during the football game.
  2. They called Matt Mauck a game manager too.... that team did ok.
  3. Magglio would be an interesting option if he could be had cheaply. I'd prefer to throw a better prospect and hope the Tigers would throw back some cash.
  4. My wife thought I was crazy jumping around in my living room just now. My daughter jumped around with me.
  5. That's not how I wanted to see Wood start off the ninth.
  6. Come on, let's get some insurance and make the ninth a cake walk.
  7. Lilly does give up his share of the long balls.
  8. Four more innings until back-to-back NL Central titles...
  9. This is it. First back to back playoff appearance since 1908... Come on, Cubs!
  10. Bradley is looking for a long-term deal. Link. He's still injury prone, but while healthy this season he hit 320/437/570. Even in Texas, that's nice production. If the Cubs could get Bradley, we could pencil him into rightfield. Kosuke could play CF in a platoon with Reed, assuming Edmonds isn't brought back. Under that scenario, I'd hang on to Pie and work him into the line-up regularly, as Bradley will miss time. When Bradley doesn't play, Pie could work into CF with Fukudome sliding back to RF. This alignment also could be used late in a game for defense. Thoughts?
  11. Where's the choice for this whole damn team?
  12. A loss this week, and I'm having a fire sale.
  13. Also, I'm probably not going to use my Cubs tickets if I get selected for NLDS. I really want to go to the NLCS though if I get the chance. I'd probably sell NLDS for face if someone promised me one of their two NLCS if the Cubs make it that far.
  14. I registered for all the lotteries so I could either go or sell them to make money to buy Cubs tix if I get shut out. So far, I missed out on the Mets and Red Sox for the first round.
  15. You have to win the chance to buy Dodgers tickets though, same thing as with the Cubs. I got an email yesterday or the day before saying I wasn't selected. I don't think they sold out using the lottery, because I got an email telling me that tickets for NLDS and NLCS with the Dodgers go on sale at 10 AM (noon for CT) on Saturday.
  16. This the Marquis that is so frustrating.
  17. This isn't going to end well. All is ok though.
  18. I think if we clinch this weekend, there's really no need to send forfeit line-ups out every day. With a week left to play, we could give guys rest without gutting the line-up completely. Assuming we clinch this weekend with eight games left, let Ramirez have 3 games off during that stretch. Give Lee a couple of games off. Give DeRosa a couple games off, and give Soriano a couple. I'd probably only play Geo four of the eight. Our righfield and centerfield have been pretty fluid lately anyway. I'd try to let Felix play at least 3-4 of those games, give Ward and Hoffpauir a couple of starts as well. If the days off a somewhat staggered, it won't look as bad as running out a line-up that looks like- CF Pie SS Cedeno LF Hoffpauir 1b Ward 2b Fontenot 3b McGehee RF Fukudome C Hill Of course, in addition to resting some guys, we'd want to set up the playoff rotation. I'd give Marshall a start and maybe Hart.
  19. I'm liking the way this game is going.
