  1. The Brewers will not move Sheets. They aren't looking to move Sheets. I don't know where anyone would get the idea that they would be looking to move him. They'd move Jenkins long before they would even consider moving Sheets.
  2. Just barely into the Crawford boxes. You people can call me pathetic all you want, but the field is just a nightmare! waa waa
  3. I'd go and just not root for or against openly. I wouldn't wear any fan gear at all. I'd go and enjoy a baseball world series game.
  4. He needed a good outing as he has been horrible thus far.
  5. Take it. Dusty will never let Dubois play.
  6. Hall could be a huge trading chip for them. If they are committed to go with Hardy and Weeks in the middle which they are, then Hall's only other position is thirdbase. They already have Helms there, so Hall becomes a very talented utility player. They could use some pitching, and Hall could be the means to getting some.
  7. What's hockey?
  8. This is right on point. Regardless of the umpire's call, you can't turn around and use that word with the umpire. The rules clearly state you can't argue balls and strikes, especially using the word that was read from Edmonds's lips. I'm not saying that pitch was a strike, but Edmonds was out of line and should have been tossed.
  9. Very well played.
  10. Me too, hypothetically speaking.
  11. At this stage in his career, I can't see Mazzone working for anyone but the Braves, but stranger things have happened.
  12. If this rumor happens, I think I like it. Of course, I'd prefer to spend the next chunk of that 40 million on Giles rather than Furcal. If we sign Furcal instead of Giles, We'd have a line-up of: 2b Furcal SS Castillo 1b Lee 3b Ramirez CF Bradley LF Murton C Barrett RF (maybe Burnitz, maybe Jacque Jones, maybe Hidalgo) On the other hand, if we spend the money on Giles 2B Castillo LF Murton 1b Lee RF Giles 3b Ramirez CF Bradley SS Cedeno C Barrett That offense could score some runs! The rotation with this trade looks to be: Zambrano Prior Wood Maddux Lowe That's not a bad rotation and it still has Jerome Williams and Mitre as back-ups to injury or as bullets to use in a trade.
  13. You can't risk arbitration. If Nomar accepts, you will pay him close to or more than what he made this year. In fact, my guess is that if he's offered arbitration, he will accept. The only hope for draft compensation is that Nomar signs somewhere before the deadline to offer arbitration passes.
  14. If the White Sox advance to the World Series, which looks likely, I may be rooting for the Astros or Cardinals for the first time in a long, long time.
  15. i dont know that it is 100 percent in concrete yet....but its a former Cub and pretty much fits in with the last four years list: 2003: Whitey Herzog, 2004: Lou Brock, 2005: Ryne Sandberg.... Ernie Banks?
  16. I'm for signing Lofton, only if we don't sign Furcal. If we get Furcal, I'd rather have Preston Wilson out there than Lofton, and I have little love Preston Wilson. My ideal scenario is to re-sign Nomar, sign Giles, and then sign Lofton for CF. If we sign Furcal, I'd still hope to sign Giles, but I'd prefer someone like Preston Wilson in CF or just keep Patterson around.
  17. Not only would I trade Wood and Williams for Arod, I'd even throw in Patterson and give a reliever like Leicester and Wellemeyer too.
  18. Of course, if the Sox win the World Series, according to one Sox fan, everyone will pack the cell and no one will be Cubs fans anymore.
  19. You're the one who dosn't block his screen name. Are you a glutton for punishment or something? Actually, I find it amusing that someone would randomly IM people he's never met and troll that way because he's been banned from about every fan forum on the net.
  20. That's the thing, there is one team every yr (or every couple of yrs) that surprise people about who they sign. A couple of yrs back, Colorado signed BOTH Hampton and Neagle and was on the verge of signing Dreifort (granted THAT didn't work out, but it surprise alot of people). More recent the O's signing Miggy Tejada---best SS in the game bar none-unless Arod moves back to SS--Javy Lopez, and Raffy Palmeiro, so it can be done, signing a couple of the season's best FA. The only problem, is neither the Rockies, or the Orioles did their homework. Signing Miggy was a no-brainer. Palmeiro was broken down before the steroids, And Lopez was overrated to begin,. Rockies should never sign finesse pitchers to big market contracts. So, do I think the Cubs could land Lofton/Giles/Furcal/Howry/Seanez/Sweeney, yes, but if I am the Cubs, I would do the homework about each player, before making the offer, tho. For example, would Furcal be tempted to start drinking again, or will arm problems resurface with Howry, or would Sweeney revert to pre-Colorado crappiness. But in the cases you mention, there were a lot more big-name FA's than there are in this class. With the weak class, I just don't see us being able to sign more than one of the top tier.
  21. My stepdad is a huge Sox fan and he avoids both labels. He's also been embarrassed by some of the behavior of his fellow fans in the past. I would probably enjoy meeting him. I hate to sterotype. But in my ballpark travels, I've met a lot of fans. Brave fans seem to be the friendliest. Usually there are good and bad of all types. However, it seems every Sox fan that I've encountered seems to lack social decorum. Maybe I should meet the father-in-law so I could no longer make my general statement.
  22. I think the White Sox and their fans are the most classless that I've ever been around. I don't think I've ever met or encountered a Sox fan in all my travels that wasn't a moron or classless or both.
  23. I guess IM's like are pretty indicative of White Sox trash:
