Post All Star Murton: .319/.390/.522 (.911OPS) CLee: .311/.358/.512 (.870 OPS) Soriano: .283/.367/.572 (.940 OPS) If the Cubs only played half a season the numbers would look better. But unfortunately, they play an entire season and while including numbers you left out Soriano and CLee outperformed Murton for the entire season, including providing a substanial amount more of HR's and RBI's. In fact if you look at CLee's numbers they are nearly identical to ARAM's numbers last year. Everyone was flipping out about the possibility of losing ARAM, adding CLee would in essence be adding another ARAM-like bat to the middle of the lineup. Sure the cost would be quite a bit more, but without regard to cost, I take CLee everyday of the week over Murton. Once again, I'm not saying Murton won't be good or doesn't have potential, I'm just pointing out that his production (especially power) is not in the same league as CLee's yet.
