    If it's Barrett and EPatt for Linebrink and Bowen (as reported in other thread), I don't like that trade at all.

    It would be nice to get Hudson up to a high pitch count early. Braves bullpen is already taxed, and it would help us out tomorrow since Smoltz has been scratched from the start.

    After his stellar debut as leadoff/SS, Theriot's career OBP is up to 39 and his OPS is right at 85. Leave him right where he is, Lou.

    I sat in the bleacher box seats last year against the Tigers and liked them, even though it was about 159 degrees in the sun that day. You get most of the good things about the bleachers (near the outfield, BP, homeruns, atmosphere) without the bad things (waiting in line to get in, tight seating, beer all over you).

    Last year they were sent out over the course of the afternoon and evening. You get notice either way. If I recall correctly, those that got offers received e-mails before those that were rejected.

    Have you been to bars that carry MLB EI? I have never been in one that has it. Of course, I live in a baseball market, so most bars show the Padres games which they can get on cable. I don't know. Unitl this year, I got EI through cable (TimeWarner), si I watched Cubs games from the couch. I guess I'll find out this year how many bars are going to subscribe to the DirectTV package and will play the game. There's a few Cubs-friendly bars in NYC.

    Those who assume everyone has a choice between DirectTV and Cable are mistaken. I live in NYC. We live in these things called "apartments." So it's virtually impossible for anyone in NYC to have satellite. Trust me, I would've done it years ago in order to get the NFL package. Assuming this deal goes through, I will have to go to a bar to watch the Bears or Cubs unless it's a national game. Simple point: both MLB and NFL put more value in exclusivity arrangements than making the product available to as many consumers as possible. It's the correct business move, but it sucks for me.
