    Student came into my class this fine morning and declared the Cubs Suck! 1. I hate that term, as much as I hate smokers and people wearing hats inside. 2. we have 14 days left of school, so what should I do?

    The umpire, Jerry Meals wrestled with me in HS. I was 103 and he wrestled 98. Thank goodness for the slurve that he used in that game, a great memory for us a bad memory for his arm.

    Statistically speaking the #1 guy does bat more than the 7-9 guy over the life of a season, thus giving him an opportunity to make an impact on the game far greater than the bottom of the order

    you don't think pie is going to be distracted by a fan behind home plate calling him off? I have only seen that work ONCE. And it was hilarious. My friend and I were at a Gary Railcats game a year or two ago and the left fielder for...i think it was the joliet team? was going for a fly ball in foul territory and my friend yelled I GOT IT right when the ball was coming down and he flat out dropped an easy catch. I thought it worked when the girl flashed the Yankee pitcher last year in the playoffs, wasn't the batter but I know the guy on second didn't move after the base hit
