  1. It was pretty funny watching them attempt to place a ball then watching it roll away.
  2. Like your attitude, more of us should sound like you!
  3. I am certainly glad we didn't try for that old man Ichiro when he was a free agent.
  4. Then they would be charging them with murder when they line it right back to their pitching coach, but it would be entertaining
  5. back-off tonight, crap you can't let anything rest. It must be hell being Wylie E. Coyote Super-genius
  6. aaaaaaaah! My ears are bleeding with every word Morgen says
  7. This is seriously the best joke account I have ever seen on any message board ever, you guys. So obviously you have little knowledge of cubs history then, nor the understanding of temperament of people with an addiction. If you are going to throw out a combative statement without support of why you think I am wrong then just don't post a reply. or go back to the Cubs message board You're all twisted... he's not just insulting you because he thinks you're incorrect in your assessment (though you are), it's that you're perpetuating the myth that Jim Hendry let Josh Hamilton slip through his fingers when it's been clearly documented and proven God knows how many dozens of times over the last several years that the Cubs had no intention of even using the draft pick, let alone use it to draft Hamilton, nor did they know that Hamilton was the selection the Reds were going to make. They struck a deal with the Reds beforehand and did what the Reds asked them to do. Because of this, he is in no way comparable to the Dennis Eckersly situation of the 80's, because Josh Hamilton never spent a single day as a Chicago Cub. They didn't trade him because of his baggage or his reputation, they traded him because that's the agreement they struck with the Reds before the draft even happened. They had absolutely no intention of keeping Josh Hamilton because they had absolutely no intention of using that draft pick for themselves. Is it that hard to comprehend? Also, comparing Josh Hamilton's situation to an alcoholic in the 80s? Really? You could throw a can and hit a baseball player in the 80's who was on something, it's not very common for a baseball player today to be addicted to the things Hamilton was addicted to. You could make a Who's Who list of players in the 80's who were addicted to drugs or alcohol. And you know the inter-working of Hendry's mind now. the baggage is/was the most obvious reason he was gone before he got here.
  8. Sick puppy! Heres a guy in the hospital all wrapped up like Nordberg, and you make a "Naked Gun reference.
  9. All in one pitch? Think Bugs Bunny. I hate that when that ball is flying in at 98 then comes to a crawl and I swing three times in a row, bugs does that all the time to me

  11. His positive quality is that he has recognized when to get rid of the so called talent before they hit skid row. IE: All former cubs that are being DFA
  12. Anybody that can throw 98 mph fast-ball followed by a 68 mph change up
  13. I know he had no intentions of keeping Hamilton, but that is a horrible decision he made. He was the Dennis Eckersly of the 2000's. Hendry didn't know that he was completely off clean and had his life back together, just as the Cubs didn't know if Eck was off the booze, even Dennis admitted to it when he said he "didn't blame the cubs for trading him." Just like the 80's I wish we had Eck after we traded him and josh now
  14. If Strasburg gets to go then Cashner should get to go as a RP. There really needs to be some kind of set in stone qualifications so the fans/media can stop this nonsense. It is about selling the game, I don't think Wunderkind deserves it yet but through a marketing stand point baseball needs it
  15. I wish we were doing so well that our guys had to fake injuries :(
  16. Well said :clapping:
  17. Tough year, would you vote for any of these bums to play on the NL All-Star Team
  18. I think the big reason we can't get into it is that we can't DVR/tivo it. We also like sports that make you think I'll bite. Why can't you DVR soccer? Plenty of people do that. Hell, I have. You could, but you would spend most of your time fast forwarding it for to catch any action. FIFA just needs to modify their rules so some scoring can be done. How the game is set up now it is like watching the NBA of the 1950's. People blow those stupid thing because they are drunk and bored. It is a great game o play and coach but the equivalent is minor league baseball where you have to have further entertainment to keep people in their seats, in this case it is alcohol.
  19. If last year we only had one cub on the All-Star team, and we base our selection on deserving ball players, then hmmmmm that leave this year with................. Boy we suck, this remid me of the mid to late 70's
  20. What the heck happened, I go out to cut the grass and Lou puts in a little league team?
  21. I am actually applauding the Yankees, a first in my life, the story next to this story of the Yankee stadium security kicking out a guy that had a vevuzela horn
  22. Again Ghana has 24 million we have 305 million, Mr. Optimistic
