  1. Better call the ambulance now and set an appointment for midnight.
  2. No runs through 6. We should start a pool on when the Cubs will score again.
  3. What other pitchers can we bring up? Marmol? Veal? Someone who can get people out? Anybody?
  4. Seconded. Rather see Hill and Guzman suck than Rusch.
  5. Yes. Now we get Rusch. The game just gets better and better.
  6. 2 runners on and we still can't score. Solid.
  7. At least Bynum decided to show up tonight.
  8. What was that, 7 pitch inning? Good job offense.
  9. At least Murton doesn't suck. It's too bad the rest of the team does.
  10. What? you don't think Howry and Eyre look pretty sitting in the bullpen haveing no games to hold or setup? Yes. Isn't it beautiful that we have a good bullpen that can't even help us because we can't score a run?
  11. So was it a fastball or a curveball that Tracy just took deep? :x
  12. And the Cubs don't score again. Big surprise.
  13. So I guess Juan Cruz is going to look like Cy Young tonight. :x
  14. Just noticed that Aram was batting 3rd and Walker is the cleanup hitter. Interesting.
  15. Yeah, looks like we're screwed tonight because the game is on WCIU and no Arizona broadcast.
  16. I wonder how Aramis would do if he tried just making contact once in a while instead of always swinging out of his shoes? :x
  17. Why do people feel it necessary to constanty question Prior's manhood? No one here knows how much pain he is in, or his workout regim, or how sick he was over the winter, or anything about his character. I am as frustrated as anyone that he seems to be unable to pitch, but I believe if he were able to he'd be out there. This is the smae kid who threw 200+ innings in 2003 and the same one who didn't back down to Bonds. I don't think he has the willingness to push himself through anything. I don't believe for a second that a strained shoulder and an illness in January should be enough to keep him out this long. I wish we could go back in time and draft Tex. Prior is a very good talent, but he has to actually pitch in order to be of any use to this team. Maybe he pitched too much in 2002 and 2003 and we are seeing the after affects? I'm not saying it is so but as long as we can make wild speculation on what is ailing Prior this should not be out of bounds either. If the injury is beyond Prior's control, asking him to suck it up is like asking Derrek Lee to suck it up and play first. But more to the point, what does it matter that he wasn't sitting on the bench last night? That's what seems to have everyone's painties in a bunch here. I personally don't care if he wasn't on the bench. It makes no difference to me. I'd rather he be getting ready to come back than sitting in the dugout. I can see overuse in 2003 affecting 2004. I cannot see it having a 3 year effect, especially considering he's not pitched a lot since 2003. It's something else at this point. And if it's something serious and he needs surgery just do it already. Stop stringing us along with these "illnesses" that he keeps coming up with.
  18. Well...after last nights game, no one called....looks like there is still no offense. Here's my new lineup Cedeno Walker Murton Hairson Barrett Ramirez Zambrano Neifi Pierre The First 5 have a chance at scoring...Ramirez will either go deep or get out...Zambrano hits better than the last two, but neither he nor ARam are OBP machines so Neifi will have less of a chance to GIDP...Pierre at the bottom...if he happens to get that groundball to the 2nd basemen into the outfield, or if there is an error, he's on in front of the people who can actually hit. Here's my new lineup: 1. E Patterson 2b 2. Cedeno SS 3. Walker 1b 4. Murton LF 5. Ramirez 3b 6. Pie CF 7. Nic Jackson RF 8. Barrett C 9. Pitcher Bring the kids up. Let 'em play. Trade Pierre and Jones (in June) for a bucket of balls and a keg of beer.
  19. It's so good to see his name come up again. I was really hoping he could help the Cubs before he had all the injury problems. If he keeps hitting well he should be called up. Can't be much worse than what we've seen lately from the Cubs.
  20. I've had it with this whole situation. Now he has food poisoning? Seriously, what's next? Is he ever going to pitch this year? At this point I'm just hoping Woody and Miller come back. That way Marshall gets to stay in the rotation. If Prior pitches this year so be it. I'm not hopeful.
