  1. Everytime I hear the rumor that the Cubs are for sale I salivate at the thought of Mark Cuban buying the team and cleaning house, bringing in management that actually value OBP. =P~ Of course with our luck the Trib would sell the Cubs to someone who drops the payroll to $60 million and is just about making money and not about winning. :x
  2. As long as we have 6 second baseman who can play other positions, bunt, and have speed we should be able to score runs at will. Wait...
  3. I don't think firing Baker is going to help much. Until Hendry figures out the value of a walk and getting players who do walk this team is going to struggle on offense. The aggressive, toolsy hitters just aren't working.
  4. 25 pitches? :? Yeah right. I guess we'll see him after the All-Star break (if then) with the pace he's going.
  5. So Dempster should be fresh, no? :x
  6. Let's see: Walker Neifi Hairston Bynum The Riot Cedeno (if needed) Am I missing anyone? I'm glad we've got that base covered now.
  7. Marquis just gave up a 1000 ft. homerun to Holliday. His 2nd homerun on the night. 6-0 Colorado.
  8. In all seriousness I'm starting to wonder if Neifi's stock is down because his speed is just average and he doesn't steal bases. First I laughed, then I realized it made a lot of sense, then I laughed again. Then I cried. Dusty cited his ability to "run and bunt" as reasons for bringing Ryan up. He thinks the move will light a fire under the other guys.......... ........ Awesome. More sac bunts please. :wall:
  9. speed wins.... track meets. Stupid Cubs.
  10. Jon pointed out in transactions that Restovich was sent down. Yay, Bynum is still on the team. Way to go Cobs. :wall:
  11. Absolutely figures. The Cubs' organization is really frustrating. Why is Bynum on this team? How many 2b do we need? Instead of doing the smart thing and releasing Bynum Hendry does the easy thing and sends Restovich down.
  12. Still no word on who was sent down? It's pretty much guaranteed that it was Restovich that was sent down because that's what the stupid Cubs would do. Send down the only guy with power from the right side for another 2b. Not that Restovich was doing any good, but he's got more worth than freakin Bynum.
  13. He might be lonely, but he's sure working his butt off giving those sac bunt signs all the time.
  14. If he's going to be out a while we should trade Hill for that Pujols guy. It'd be a pretty fair deal.
  15. Novoa is gonna give it up.
  16. And that's probably it for Woody as he gets his 12th K. 5 innings. 1 hit. 1 walks. 1 HBP. 12 K's. Bring him up!!!!
  17. Nathan said before that they've been having problems with the gun the past few nights, so he doesn't think that's accurate.
  18. He must be getting tired. He only got 1 k that inning. :D
  19. This is outrageous. He's started the game with 9 K's. Struck out the side in the first 3 innings.
  20. Nathan said 91-92 on the gun, but they've been having problems with the gun lately. He said Woody's throwing harder than any Cheifs he's seen play this year.
