    You really, really should. Middle relief for our floundering major league club is not worth jeopardizing the future and length of control of possibly our best pitching prospect. I'm a fan. I care about winning. You're talking about a pocketbook problem we face years from now. Who's to say Gallagher won't be open to a deal locking him up long term a few years down the line? It's only a question of dollars. The Cubs have enough and then some. You have to have players on the team who are making less than $5-$10 million a year. We aren't the Yankees. We can't pay for whatever we want. And if you look, Hendry has basically screwed us by backloading a bunch of deals he's given out lately. You should definitely worry about the pocketbook problem years from now. Add in the fact that Gallagher is one of our best prospects right now and should be getting innings under his belt just adds to the stupidity.

    He's one of our best prospects. Why don't we put him in the bullpen and let him pitch in mop-up duty then? Makes perfect sense.

    I saw him in the dugout earlier In the dugout? I wonder why he wasn't in the pen. Relief pitchers usually spend the first couple innings in the dugout. They go back and forth between the dugout and bullpen quite a bit during the first couple innings.

    I saw him in the dugout earlier Damn. I would be content with Jacque being gone but I have a feeling it's going to be a pitcher. It pretty much has to be a pitcher. Otherwise, we'd have 13 pitchers on the team.

    QFT... I'm assuming this is Sean Gallagher right? Who gets sent down? Is this a trade precursor? Yeah, it's definitely Gallagher and I know peoriachiefs39 is friends with Sean, but I am still really surprised. I wonder what's going to happen. Trade maybe or who's sent down? Guess we'll have to wait and see tonight.

    I'm starting to feel bad for Arod. Not that he doesn't bring some of it on himself, but the stripper was obviously trying to say he likes muscular women, and of course a NYC paper makes it seem like Arod likes the trannies. And even if he did for some reason, who cares? Does his off-the-field stuff interrupt his play on the field? Sure doesn't seem that way when you look at his numbers. I definitely see him opting out of his contract and getting out of NYC after this year. The Cubs won't be able to afford him, so hopefully he just stays in the American League and we don't have to worry about him in the NL.
