Again, why do people think Soriano hitting 5th is going to do much good? He's got a much better chance at hitting in some runs batting behind Fontenot, Lee, and Ramirez than he does hitting behind Izzy, Bowen, Crap, and the pitcher.
Kroeger is interesting. He was a big prospect for the Diamondbacks a few years ago, but then had 2 terrible years, but he's been absolutely raking since coming to the Cubs. I might actually like to see him get the call. He's a LH bat with a bunch of pop. Could be an interesting choice. I don't see it happening though.
I couldn't agree more. I never understood the value of a save. It doesn't make any sense. Managers should use their best pitcher when it's needed. I would love to see managers stop worrying about having a "closer" and just worry about setting up their bullpen so their pitchers are used in the best situations.
There's no way the Astros would trade Oswalt to us. I don't see them trading him in the first place, but if they did it would definitely not be to a division rival.
