  1. Ugh. Not CERA. And you're basing Soto's CERA as well? He's been up for a whole 5 games now.
  2. I could care less about Bowen. He was nothing more than a backup anyway. But we basically trade Barrett and Blevins for Jason Kendall. Why not just keep Barrett? They're basically even defensively, with Barrett being much, much better offensively. When was the last time Kendall even hit a homerun? 1998? I've been trying to figure this trade out, but I just don't get it.
  3. Blevins was having an outstanding year at AA. I wouldn't have traded him straight up for Kendall. Add the fact that we're going to have to pay Kendall, and it turns out to be a terrible trade. Kendall is old, is just as bad defensively as Barrett, and has no power whatsoever. I have no idea what Hendry is thinking. He should be removed from his GM duties immediately.
  4. WOW CUBS!!! WOW!!! This is fun to watch.
  5. ARAMIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  6. Just got home. Heard about this trade while listening to Pat and Ron. Hendry is a total idiot. I don't understand how this man runs a baseball team. Just awful. And to throw in Blevins too? I don't even know what to say.
  7. Well 1 worthless bat gone. Jesus that Barret trade was horrible! Pretty much a DFA. At least Hendry can admit he's wrong. Hopefully Kyler Burke turns into something useful.
  8. Wow. That's a pretty big surprise. I never thought Hendry would DFA Bowen.
  9. Nothing like using up all of his options early. You only can use up 1 option per year, so he can go up and down as many times as the Cubs want.
  10. No because that would leave them still with only 11 pitchers and Lou is desperate for a 12th.
  11. It would make Hendry look really, really bad if that were to happen. But I'd be all for it. He's crap.
  12. Probably just because Hill hasn't started in over a week, and hasn't played in that long (not including yesterday). Someone had to be sent down to make room for Petrick. There's a really good chance it was one of the 3 catchers. I'm nervous.
  13. If you read the thread you'd know he was scratched from the lineup because of soreness in his legs. :D
  14. Crap. With Hill getting the start tonight, does that mean Soto was sent back down to make room for Petrick?
  15. The SCORE just said Ward would be playing in RF tonight with DeRosa playing 2b. Soriano will be back in the leadoff spot. No word on the lineup though.
  16. Anyone tried the Cubs' replay tickets system yet? I was looking for some tickets to the Dodgers' series, and the prices don't seem ridiculous for some of the seats.
  17. According to ESPN, Sheets has been put on the 15-day DL. NO word on the MRI yet though. Edit: Doesn't sound like a season-ending injury.
  18. From the 2005 BA prospects book: "Kroeger is a natural hitter with a smooth, level swing and good power. He's adept at driving the ball in the gaps. He has the arm for right field and the slightly above-average speed to play center in a pinch." He was the D'Backs 7th prospect in 2005.
  19. No thank you. He's awful. He's expensive and awful. We're better off sticking with Soto and Bowen than adding him.
  20. The Padres won so we didn't gain a game today.
  21. CUBS WIN!!!!! GET OUT THE BROOMS!!! WOOHOO!!! What a great comeback win for the Cubs. Amazing.
