  1. Church can play CF. He's a much better option in CF than J. Jones at this point. OPS+ last 3 years: Church: 120, 128, 101 Jones: 99, 107, 67 Plus, his numbers versus lefties are almost as good as his numbers versus righties, so he can play against lefties as well.
  2. How was India? Oh, and welcome back. We were forced to rough it while you were gone. Slugger expected us to click on links instead of giving us box scores.

  4. Cool. Hope Hendry pulls the trigger. Church would be a good acquisition.
  5. I predict a 45-43 victory for the Cubs in this game.
  6. Haha. You just mentioned ESPN 1000 and reliable in the same breath. Dang beat me too it lol. I could have said the Score? There wouldn't be enough laughing smilies if you said the SCORE.

  8. What's with GM's in the NL Central thinking they need 35 "proven" relievers on their team?
  9. they just lost to the hottest team in baseball over the last ten games, to one of the best left handed pitchers in the game. such a child mentality sometimes in this game thread. they lose=end of the season. People have passion for this team. They wanted to see the Cubs in 1st place, and the Cubs put up a crappy showing. Yeah, there's a lot of childish stuff in this thread, but it's a gamethread. People write about their anger as the game goes on. You can have passion and perspective at the same time though. The Cubs are 1GB, losing that half game is hardly the end of the world. Eh, who cares? Not worth arguing about. Everyone just chill out and turn on My Boys on TBS.

  11. Every team needs offensive help againt Hamels. LOl oh ok its another one of those "tip your caps huh" Nevermind the Cubs offesnive approach is horrible They got shut down by a very good pitcher, it happens to everybody. But go ahead and tell me I'm drinking Kool-aid. We sure do face a lot of very good lefties, huh? What does that have to do with tonight when they were facing one of the best young pitchers in baseball? The Cubs suck against almost every lefty they face because they go up there hacking at everything and have no idea how to go the other way with pitches. Hamels is good. He's very good. But it's the same thing everytime we face a lefty, minus crappy Wandy.

  13. It wasn't even close to being a strike. I think the ump just felt bad for us and put us out of our misery.
  14. Dempster's ninja skills came in handy there. Nice shoulder into Iguchi.
  15. When was the last time our catcher even attempted to throw out a runner? Our pitchers are terrible at holding runners on.
  16. 24 BB to 83 K's. Solid.
  17. Let's just pray that's the last inning for Hamels.
  18. looks like he's trying to hit the ball into the lake. He's probably thinking the Cubs love Floyd so he's trying to imitate him in every way. He's doing a pretty good job so far.
