  1. Can't concentrate. Must do work, but can't concentrate. Come on 9pm. This is killing me.
  2. I didn't even know ESPN still existed.
  3. DeRo is just an awesome player. He's not the best 2nd baseman out there, but he plays the game the right way and is a very intelligent ballplayer. Plus, he actually knows how to take a walk. I got some serious mancrush on DeRo.

  5. You should report it to Ebay. It seems like the guy would have to put that information into the auction if he knew about it. Maybe you can get your money back.
  6. That is a lineup that really shouldn't scare anyone. Yeah Z better cruise. Stephen Drew is really the only lefty that Z might have trouble with. The other lefties in the lineup don't scare me all that much. Z should definitely do well against this lineup if he pitches like he's capable of.
  7. Anyone taking odds on if Soriano swings at the first pitch tomorrow?
  8. Cedeno is the one who is taking Monroes spot not Fontenot. I understand that. I'm just saying I'd rather see Monroe on the roster instead of Fontenot. We have 4 guys that can play 2b on the roster, and not much pop from the RH hitters. Monroe has sucked, but at least he can hit a homerun every once in a while.
  9. I have to say, I don't like Craig Monroe, but I still think he's a better option off the bench than Fontenot. Fontenot has been pretty worthless.
  10. They haven't mentioned him on CSN, but I believe Santo said on XM yesterday that Hart made the roster.
  11. Trachsel and Ohman didn't make the roster.
  12. CSN just mentioned Soto will be the starting catcher and Craig Monroe was left off the roster. Fontenot and Cedeno both made the roster. Pie also made the roster.
  13. Top 10. I'll take it.
  14. I think I pretty much found the perfect women. She's obsessed with the Cubs too and has no problem with watching the games with me. She loves going to Wrigley, and basically said if I wanted to we could spend the money to get tickets to all the playoff games if we can't get them on cubs.com. but doesn't she have that one, um, "flaw" that you've mentioned before? she's a one position woman, if that's what you're talking about, but she lets me do things that are illegal in some states though, so that makes up for it. enough about girlfriends though. i can't wait for this game to start. went down to wrigley and bought a Z t-shirt and a DeRosa t-shirt. Go Cubs!!! okay, maybe it wasn't you. someone recently ranted about the fact that their girlfriend wouldn't, uh, how should I put this, wouldn't "Lewinsky" his "Clinton" Nope. No problems here with that. Must be thinking of someone else.

  16. I'm okay with that, as long as that means that Traschel gets bumped down. There is zero chance that Trachsel is or was ever going to be on the playoff roster. I don't know why anyone was worried about this. Has this been confirmed? I haven't kept up with the playoff roster, so I'm not exactly sure who's on it, to be honest with you. There's absolutely no need for a 5th starter in the playoffs and Trachsel has never worked out of the bullpen before. Oh, and he sucks. Zero chance he makes the playoff roster.
  17. Looks like Marquis made the playoff roster.
  18. Great, bulletin board material already I don't think he meant it to come out that way. I think he meant that the Diamondbacks won 90 games for a reason and that they were a good ball team. Didn't quite come out right though. In other words you think it was a lack of a grasp of the English language than a slight to the Diamondbacks? pretty much.

  20. "For some reason they won 90 games. For some reason they're in the playoffs." Gotta love Z.

  22. We're the Cubs. We have probably the biggest fan base in MLB, we sell out the stadium every game, and people go in droves to other teams' stadiums to watch the Cubbies. We deserve better than Hendry.
  23. After seeing the first two months of this team I'm shocked we won 85 games. I have no doubt that with this current club as is, we would've won 90 games easy... Agreed. This is why it bothers me a bit to hear the Cubs referred to as a bad playoff team and all that. They came back from ~10 games under .500 and 8.5 games back over two months into the season. You have to play pretty damn well and consistently to do that. Hell, had we not lost Soriano in August, we might have won 90 games, or at least come a bit closer. I guess you really have to look at the season as a whole, though. I'm biased, but I definitely think the Cubs are better than their record. I heard the other day that the Cubs are the best team in baseball since June 23. So I don't buy the argument that the only reason the Cubs made the playoffs is because of our division. And yes, we would have been even better with healthy Zo, A-Ram and D-Lee, all of whom were banged up much of the regular season. We're the best team record wise because we were playing the NL Central while other teams were playing the East and West. and when did the first two months of the season stop counting? yes, we were good after june, but you can't just throw out the first two months. also, like was mentioned, we are not going to see these threads at all when we're in the 4th year of Soriano's contract.
  24. I'd like to show appreciation for all NL Central teams for sucking badly, making it possible for us to win the worst division in baseball, winning 85 games despite having a $100 million payroll.
