  1. Geo laughs at this award as it means nothing to him. MVP or nothing for Soto.
  2. Lilly is pitching fantastic today. Too bad the offense blows.
  3. Is it even true that they have fewer front office types than most teams? They have about a half dozen special assistants to the GM. They've got 15 names in the baseball ops section. I'm sure teams like the Mets and White Sox, with a bunch of people actually considered part of the ownership group, probably have more names. And the Yankees seemingly have 2 front offices, in the Bronx and in Tampa. But I've never heard anything about the Cubs lacking bodies in the front office. I think I remember reading something that said the Cubs have the fewest full-time employees (employees working all year round) than any other team in baseball.
  4. I find myself wondering why I'm watching this garbage. There's no way the Cubs get to Haren today.
  5. Our $130 million man is hitting below the mendoza line and has looked awful in the field as well. I think people are just getting sick of him.
  6. Lilly is pitching well so far, minus that one brain fart to Young.
  7. Alright, let's take bets on Soriano coming through with a basehit to score DeRo. I'm saying there's a 2% chance of it happening.
  8. Whoever is going to Wrigley tomorrow for the NSBB meet, someone make a sign with Reed Johnson's splits on it. Maybe Lou will see it.
  9. Dusty is making out the lineup cards for us once again.
  10. Haha. Nice play Johnson. Glad you're still in the lineup.
  11. I have a bad feeling that we're going to get smoked today.
  12. He, along with Rich Hill, should have known that prior to the NLDS last year. Ugh. Let's not talk about that. Nothing like being in CF bleachers and seeing Rich give up the leadoff homer to Young. :wall:
  13. They're skipping him on the theory that the less he pitches the better off the team will be. I understand that concept. My question is why not skip him entirely and give him the boot.
  14. I give up if this is true. This team is reaching levels of idiocy I thought were only possible under Dusty Baker. Yeah, I feel pretty much the same way. If Pie gets sent down for some 30-year-old journeyman, I'm going to be quite upset. I really hate this organization sometimes.
  15. Cardinals down 7-2 in the 6th inning.
  16. 2 hours before gametime.
  17. woohoo. we might game a half game.
