    The answer is to not have a closer role at all. Put pitchers in the best situations to get hitters out. Who cares who "closes out" the game?

Following the footsteps of Howry and Eyre, we have a 10 million dollar middle reliever. who's in the minor leagues and doesn't look like he'll be on the major league team anytime soon. At least Howry and Eyre have spent that money while on the Major League team.

    From my experiences this year - cubs fans are pretty drunk too. Who said anything about the fans?

    Anyone else wonder what it would be like wearing a Cardinals' uniform? It's like you're guaranteed to become superhuman after putting on the uniform. The only downfall is you have to worry about becoming a drunk.

    You do realize that Z is 3-4 with an RBI, right? Other pitchers do get hits and RBI's.

    Lineups aren't out until an hour before gametime. Word over at BCB though is that Theriot is leading off, Fukudome is batting 2nd, Soriano has the day off, and Hoffpauir is in LF.
