  1. We need something. We can't afford to keep allowing Scales and Blanco to get at-bats. It's killing us.
  2. So how do we screw up this leadoff double?
  3. You can just tell this is going to be one of those games. :blackeye:
  4. The Cubs are really good at screwing up scoring chances.
  5. Don't feel like starting a Other Games thread. Anyone see Woody pitch against the Sox a little bit ago? He came in to face one batter and struck him out on 3 pitches. First pitch heat the batter swung and missed at. 2nd pitch was a filthy curveball called for a strike. 3rd pitch was a 97 MPH fastball he painted the outside corner for strike 3. I miss Woody. :(
  6. He is currently guaranteed through the 2010 season and has a vesting option for 2011. If he plays 75 games this year - and this year only - the option automatically vests and become guaranteed for 2011. If it doesn't automatically vest, then I believe it's a team option. That is awful. Hendry should be shot.
  7. I actually use citalopram. But, yeah. Khalil? There's an app-- er, a pill for that. I was on citalopram for about a year a few years back. The withdrawal symptoms coming off of it were nasty.
  8. There really are no options in the upper minor leagues. It's truly pathetic.
  9. This would be good. You know we're bad when we have to rely on injuries to win baseball games. He will play. Superstars never take off against the Cubs. Looks like he's not in the Braves' lineup.
  10. Why did Fontenot have to be traded? You sign Hudson and then Fontenot replaces Miles off the bench. It's not like Fontenot is a proven starter.
  11. That is one stacked lineup. It's like we're back to Dustyball.
  12. Sadly Kerry Wood's year has not been anything to write home about, so I don't see how you can guarantee different results. Getting rid of Kerry Wood for financial reasons did not mean he had to trade for another multi million dollar reliever with a significantly worse track record. I hated losing Wood, but I understood the financial motivation, what I don't understand is then turning around and wasting a ton of cash on Gregg, just like trying to trade DeRosa at a high and then wasting the financial benefit on a guy like Miles. Because Jim Hendry sucks. We could have had Dunn and Hudson. I have no idea if the Cubs were interested in Hudson, but that is one thing that really irks me. We could have Hudson for the price we're paying Aaron [expletive] Miles.
  13. Just put him on the DL so we can bring up another pitcher who only pitches once a month.
  14. I kind of like this idea. Then when Ramirez comes back put Tejada at SS and move Theriot to 2b. Never going to happen (can't have so many righty's in the lineup!), but it's a nice thought.
  15. I guess I'm glad I had somewhere to be tonight, so I missed the last 2 innings (or 5 if you count the extra innings). I came back tonight very confident that we had won the game. How could we lose when we were up 4 in the 8th. No way. I obviously didn't factor in the bullpen effect.
  16. It's always going to be tough when your best player goes down for a long stretch of games. We are definitely hurting without Aramis. That being said, Hendry put together one of the worst offseasons I've ever seen in my lifetime. Just awful. Nothing is working out for us so far. And you knew it was going to be awful before the season even started.
